Great Balls of Fire Predictions!

Its time for another round of PPV predictions! This time it’s for WWE’s Great Balls of Fire, which is going down in Dallas, TX at the American Airlines Center on July 9th… which also happens to be my birthday. Whether or not I will watch the PPV and cover it live is up in the air as of now, as I may just watch it later on the [clink id=”2″ target=”_blank”]WWE Network[/clink], but non the less, here are my predictions!

Universal Champion Brock Lesnar vs. Samoa Joe: I don’t care. Honestly this could be a death match and they could both be eaten alive by Braun Strowman, and I still would barely blink an eye. These are two of the most boring WWE personalities as of right now… Lesnar will hold onto the belt till SummerSlam at the very least.

Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman (Ambulance Match): While I like watching these two fight, the ambulance match stipulation is fucking stupid. It not a fun gimmicky match, its a predictable one. Now its hard for me to say who will win for sure, as you know WWE is trying to push Reigns, and folks are confused as to what his “tweener” status is… Is he a face, is he a heel? Who the fuck are we rooting for in this match? I think Reigns is capable of a lot more, but frankly the writing sucks, and creative has no idea how to use him. Strowman is a monster, I dig it. He’s scary, he has destroyed half the RAW roster, we totally get it… But to me this match and the Lesner/Joe match are both two similar dudes fighting each other. I’d have rather seen all these guys in a 4 way match, with the stipulation that kicks in the nuts are legal. Then maybe some bals would be on fire!

Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss vs. Sasha Banks: I hate Alexa Bliss, Not because of her character, but because she takes to social media to demean people who have done a lot more than she has in the business, and who if ever got the opportunity would kick the shit out of her. Shes a shitty person, so I hope Sasha Banks hands her her ass, and takes the belt away… Banks all the way,

Seth Rollins vs. Bray Wyatt: Meh… I feel like the writers on RAW just don’t give a fuck anymore. As much as I like Seth Rollins, I just don’t feel any excitement about this match. I am going with Rollins on this one.

WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville vs. Akira Tozawa: Probably the most exciting match on the card, this should be the main event. Tozawa is on fire, and it would be nice to see a title change, not that I think Neville is a bad champ, actually I think he is great. I just think its time to see Tozawa shine.

WWE News Today 5/10/17 – Braun Strowman Injury, Batista Return, R-Truth Hosts Game Show

WWE News and Rumors for May 10, 2017

  • New Details on Braun Strowman’s elbow surgery suggest he will miss the next two Raw PPVs. Strowman had been penciled in to face Roman Reigns in June at Extreme Rules and then Brock Lesnar in July at the Inaugural Great Balls of Fire PPV. Originally the timetable for return was 2 months, but now there is less clarity on a return date.
  • On Talk is Jericho, Batista revealed that he has contacted WWE several times about returning to face Triple H. He is only interested in this match, however WWE.com conducted a poll on who Batista’s opponent should be upon a potential return. Brock Lesnar is leading by a wide margin, with Triple H being the runner up.
  • After Smackdown and 205 Live, there was a dark match in the arena with Shinsuke Nakamura defeating Dolph Ziggler with the Kinshasha.
  • Jim Ross will be calling matches on episodes of the WWE UK Show on the WWE Network. He will be partnered with Nigel McGuinness
  • Jerry Lawler is offering franchise opportunities for his BBQ restaurant. Lawler has been in the restaurant business before, however the latest venture just opened up recently. This comes after the WWE ceased using Jerry as a full time commentator.
  • Emma has left the WWE European Tour with a shoulder injury of which the severity is at this time unknown. After a shaky return recently, Emma is finally gaining steam but this injury could sidetrack this momentum.
  • Due to an arm injury, Ember Moon is unable to challenge Asuka for the NXT Championship as planned for NXT Takeover: Chicago. Asuka will now defend in a Triple Threat Match against Nikki Cross and Ruby Riot.
  • Cody Rhodes will reprise his role on the next episode of Arrow. Cody, as Stardust, had a SummerSlam match and ongoing feud with the Stephen Amell when still under contract with WWE.
  • The WWE Network secretly filmed what will be the Network’s first game show, hosted by R-Truth. It is set to debut later this year.

WWE Payback Betting Odds Project a Major Title Change

Paddy Power makes bets available only to The UK and Ireland. The odds can still be followed but anyone in the world however.

The betting odds for this Sunday’s Payback have been posted by Paddy Power, a sportsbook available in Ireland and The UK. A possible title change is projected at this point but the lines often change. This becomes more dramatic when odds are offered to the global market later in the week.

Early odds of 4/7(64% probability) see Alexa Bliss winning against Raw Women’s Champion Bayley. This does not necessarily mean Bayley loses the title in the event of a count out or DQ, but the bet would be graded as a win for Bliss. All other champions are currently projected to retain. Kevin Ovens is favored over Chris Jericho for the US Championship, Neville is favored to retain the Cruiserwieght Title against Austin Aries and the Hardyz are projected to retain the Raw Tag Titles against Cesaro and Sheamus.

Braun Strowman has odds of 1/2 ,or a nearly 67% probability. Booking patterns would suggest with the onslaught of abuse Braun has put Roman through that Reigns would get his revenge by beating Strowman in the match. This may not be the case as Braun did suffer a loss in a dumpster match with Kalisto on the go home Raw leading into Payback.

The House of Horrors match has odds favoring Randy Orton at 4/6(60% probability) against Bray Wyatt. This match is Wyatt’s creation, Raw is his home brand and Orton’s WWE Championship isn’t even on the line. A strong case can be made that Wyatt should be favored and the odds on this match could easily flip in the other direction.

Seth Rollins is a 4/9 favorite to defeat Samoa Joe and on the Kick Off Show, Enzo and Big Cass are 4/7 favorites to beat Gallows and Anderson.

Betting Odds on Who Will Dethrone Brock Lesnar and Become Universal Champion

Grosvenor Casinos offers betting odds on WWE Events and Scenarios. Bets are only accepted from the United Kingdom and Ireland, however anyone in the world can view and follow the odds.

Grosvenor Casinos has recently posted odds on who the next WWE Universal Championship Title Holder will be. The title is currently possessed by Brock Lesnar, after a convincing defeat of Goldberg at Wrestlemania 33 in Orlando earlier this month. 16 possible outcomes all with varying odds to bet on but one challenger is favored over all others. With odds of -250 this projects Reigns with a 71% chance of being the one to dethrone Lesnar. This is no shock with the recent rumblings that Brock will unstoppable until Wrestlemania 34 in New Orleans where he will be challenged by Roman. If the match happened it would be the 4th consecutive Wrestlemania main event in Roman’s career. These rumors are likely why the odds are set the way they currently are.

Braun Strowman would be the next most likely to take the Universal Championship from Brock with odds of +175, or a 37% chance. Strowman’s star power has risen significantly in recent weeks. After having the most memorable moments 2 weeks back to back on Raw, which included flipping an ambulance on it’s side and superplexing Big Show and breaking the ring in the process, Braun has solidified himself as must see television. His first official WWE tee shirt was introduced and sold out almost immediately and there are certainly major accomplishments in store for Strowman, possibly the Universal Championship.

The returning Finn Balor has odds of +400, or 20%. Balor was the first man to in the Universal Championship before having to forfeit the championship due to injury. Finn is popular enough to handle being in the top spot of the WWE and didn’t get a chance to do so after first earning the challenge. It has definitely been demonstrated that WWE feels Finn deserves a chance and expect a title shot against Lesnar in the future.

Samoa Joe and Seth Rollins both have odds of +700, a 13% projected probability that is very accurately set. Both men have been credible champions in the past, however the aforementioned Reigns, Strowman and Balor appear to the direction the title picture is headed right now.

CM Punk actually has odds to win the title with longshot odds of +2500 or 4%. The Rock is even more of an underdog here than Punk at +3300

Who Will be the Next Universal Champion?

Roman Reigns -250

Braun Strowman +175

Finn Balor +400

Samoa Joe +700

Seth Rollins +700

Bray Wyatt +1000

Dean Ambrose +1500

Jeff Hardy +1500

Matt Hardy +1700

The Miz +1700

Chris Jericho +2000

CM Punk +2500

The Rock +3300

Kurt Angle +5000

WWE News Today – Roman Reigns vs Braun Strowman in an Ambulance Match, “Broken” Hardys Gimmick in WWE

WWE News and Rumors April 20, 2017

  • Roman Reigns vs Braun Strowman at Payback is likely to be made into an ambulance match. This would play off Braun toppling over an ambulance with Reigns inside on a recent episode on Raw.
  • WWE has plans to use the Broken Hardys gimmick in their product and are working with Impact Wrestling to work out an agreement where this may become a reality.
  • John Cena posted a clip on twitter of himself doing crossfit, to which Seth Rollins responded “I knew I’d sucker ya in!” Rollins is an avid cross fitter.
  • At last night’s NXT Tapings at Full Sail, Ember Moon may have been injured after crashing shoulder first into the barricade. This was during a battle royal that will air next month.
  • After Smackdown went off the air Tuesday night in Louisville, KY, Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Dolph Ziggler.
  • Mike and Maria Bennett will join Smackdown, having been backstage for the past few weeks. This will be Maria’s return as she has previously been in WWE as Maria Kanellis. Mike Bennett will make his debut and it looks like NXT will be bypassed for a fast track to the main roster.
  • Shelton Benjamin clears up falsehoods by stating that he is a free agent and not under contract with WWE, though he acknowledged this could change. Shelton was set to return to the point of getting vignettes on Smackdown, but an injury prevented both a return and a contact.
  • Revival member, Dash Wilder is out with a broken jaw for 8 weeks. This is an in ring injury that happened while tagging with partner Scott Dawson to take on Shinsuke Nakamura and Hideo Itami at an NXT event in Spartanburg, SC. The injury required Wilder to have his jaw wired shut.
  • Simon Gotch will now be known as Simon Grimm on the independents as WWE owns the rights to the “Simon Gotch” name.

wwe house of horrors match

What Nightmares Await in Bray Wyatt’s “House of Horrors” Match at WWE Payback?,

New Details Teased About House of Horror Match

WWE sent out a survey to the WWE Fan Council asking what the “House of Horrors” match for the WWE Championship between Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt at Payback should be. There was some criticism towards the WWE for booking a match and not having a plan in place for what that match will entail. The survey was actually a checklist of the following items. This looks to be an experimental match that could be a big hit or a total dud.

  • Cage
  • Darkness
  • FireWWE Network Bray 300x250
  • Pitch Forks
  • Sheeple”
  • Mirrors
  • Projected images
  • Fog
  • A match set outside the arena
  • Creepy/scary
  • Music
  • Other
  • Nothing different
  • Chainsaws
  • Bugs
  • Masks
  • Snakes
  • Costumes
  • Axes
  • Tables
  • Chairs
  • Chains
  • Fire
  • Kendo Sticks
  • Would prefer no weapons or objects
  • Other

Speaking of the “House of Horrors” Match, the obvious reason why this was moved to Raw branded Payback is because Brock Lesnar will not be on that event and therefore the Universal Championship would not be defended. This will be the first time since the brand split that the WWE Championship is defended on a Raw branded PPV.

WWE Payback Matches

Other matches for WWE Payback on the WWE Network have been announced with more matches to be added as we approach March 30.

United States Championship

Kevin Owens(c) vs Chris Jericho

Raw Tag Team Championship

The Hardy Boyz(c) vs Cesaro & Sheamus

Cruiserweight Championship

Neville (c) vs Austin Aries

Another match likely for is Roman Reigns vs Braun Strowman to capitalize off the brutal attack that saw Strowman throw Reigns around backstage, push him off a loading dock and then push over an ambulance with Reigns inside. Roman literally will be after Payback.

Now that Seth Rollins finished of Triple H at Wrestlemania 33, expect him to move on to a match with Samoa Joe at Payback. This one could steal the show if the match end up being booked.

roman reigns returns

WWE News Today 4/16/17 – Roman Reigns Returns Already, Charlotte Flair vs Nikki Bella, Finn Balor Status

WWE News and Rumors April 15, 2017

  • Charlotte Flair responded to Nikki Bella’s thinly veiled challenge. Nikki had originally mentioned being able to have a match with Flair who recently was moved to Smackdown.

  • Due to an injury, Finn Balor has been removed from this weekend’s Raw live events. Balor is also not being advertised for Raw this Monday in Columbus, OH. Finn is next advertised this Friday in Rapid City, South Dakota, although there is no guarantee he will be cleared to appear by that time.
  • Roman Reigns returned to action in Providence, RI Friday Night though he didn’t wrestle a match. Instead, after Braun Strowman hit the ring and taunted the audience that Roman wouldn’t be wrestling him that not, as Reigns was not medically cleared. Roman then showed up and after a brawl performed a Superman Punch and a Spear through a table.
  • Now available at WWE Shop are commemorative plaques celebrating this year’s Wrestlemania moments including the [clink id=”62″ target=”_blank”]Undertaker’s Final Match[/clink], [clink id=”65″ target=”_blank”]John Cena proposing to Nikki Bella[/clink] and of course the victories. These come with an actual piece of canvas used at Wrestlemania that these moments occurred in. Each piece is limited to 250 pieces and is $64.99. A non limited version without the canvas is being offered at $29.99. Current best sellers in order are [clink id=”62″ target=”_blank”]Undertaker Retiring[/clink], [clink id=”63″ target=”_blank”]Bayley retaining the Raw Women’s Title[/clink] and [clink id=”64″ target=”_blank”]Mojo Rawley winning the Andre the Giant Battle Royal[/clink].
  • Jim Ross’ current WWE deal involves 40 appearances over a 2 year deal. We will being seeing a lot of Ross, mostly on PPV events.
  • Brock Lesnar is expected to be more active as Universal Champion than he has been over the past few years, but is currently not expected to appear at Payback.

WWE Fastlane “Smart Money Odds” and Projected Winners, Non Finish in Championship Match?

The following odds are from 5 Dimes and represent the American Market. Currently Mastercard, American Express and Bitcoins are being accepted for deposits. Bets can be made for as low as 50 cent although there is never an obligation to place a wager or make a deposit to view and follow the ever changing odds. Visit 5Dimes by clicking here.

The current odds for WWE Fastlane at this time can be considered “projected outcomes” or “smart money odds” and while there are long odds on some of the matches, many are much closer. In particular, the Raw Women’s Championship is so close this could end being a no contest. At the most recent WWE Pay Per View, Nikki Bella and Natalya in a double count out. The sports book taking these wagers canceled the bet and refunds were issued. This is how issues like this are handled. Charlotte is slightly favored at -160 but at one point was heavily favored at -1750. Charlotte Flair’s streak of being undefeated on PPV is believed by many to end at Wrestlemania next month for a Mania moment and a non-finish here would not contaminate Charlotte’s current streak. The cruiserweight tag of Swann and Tozawa vs Kendrick and Dar is very close and this is because it’s a pre-show match and not much money was put on it compared to the Women’s Championship.

The Raw Tag champs of Gallows and Anderson are favored to retain -560 and the challengers Enzo and Cass are rumored to have the big title win at Wrestlemania in Orlando where they spent so much time in NXT. Neville is also favored to retain his championship at -615 in the cruiserweight division.

The heaviest odds favorites are Goldberg at -2000 to beat Kevin Owens. Originally an underdog in the early lines, Nia Jax is favored at -1700 to win against Sasha Banks. Early bets on Nia could end up paying off and these early bets are what has driven Nia’s favorablility.

At -1625, Samoa Joe is thought of as a lock to beat Sami Zayn and Braun Strowman is at -1200 to beat Roman Reigns. Some sports books are also offering odds of 1/2(67%) that the Undertaker will interfere in Roman vs Braun. The speculation driving this is that this will be to further set up Roman vs Taker at Wrestlemania

There are separate lines available for “initial ruling” and “end of broadcast” grading. The initial ruling grading was just added and as of know both sets of lines are identical and any significant variance that emerges would suggest a “Dusty Finish” would happen. Keep an eye on these and these lines can be followed by anyone.

WWE Universal Championship

Kevin Owens(c) +1000 vs Goldberg -2000

WWE Raw Women’s Championship

Bayley(c) +120 vs Charlotte Flair -160

WWE Raw Tag Team Championship

Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson(c) -560 vs Enzo Amore & Big Cass +370

WWE Cruiserweight Championship

Neville -615 vs Jack Gallagher +405

Roman Reigns +600 vs Braun Strowman -1200 (Undertaker has odds of -200 to show up at ringside)

Sami Zayn +775 vs Samoa Joe -1625

Sasha Banks +800 vs Nia Jax -1700

Rich Swann & Akira Tozawa -215 vs The Brian Kendrick & Noam Dar +165

Wrestlemania Favorites To Leave as Champion, How Many Titles Change Hands, Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

The following European Market odds are from Paddy Power. Wagers are not available from all countries. Visit Paddy Power [clink id=”14″]by clicking here[/clink].

The Irish sportbook Paddy Power has had odds on who will walk out of Wrestlemania with the WWE Heavyweight and Universal Championships for over a month and there has been no major changes in Randy Orton and Brock Lesnar leaving with those titles respectively.

Odds are now also being offered on the Intercontinental, United States, both the RAW and Smackdown Women’s Championships as well as how many title changes there will be at Mania. The Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal also has odds.

Right now Bayley and Naomi, the current champions, are according to these odds expected to still be champions after the Wrestlemania is in the books. Also, Kevin Owens is favored to win the United States Championship, currently held by the man he turned on, Chris Jericho in a much anticipated and thoroughly built up match.

Baron Corbin is favored to be Intercontinental Champion, a title currently held by Dean Ambrose. Corbin has never held a title in the WWE, including during his dominant run in NXT. Braun Strowman is favored to win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal this year, which seems perfectly reasonable considering Braun has been moving up in star power more than anyone else and yet has no planned Mania match to speak of.

How many title changes will there be at Wrestlemania? Even bets are being taken at 6-7 and this seems like a high number with only 9 titles for the main roster and no confirmation on if all of them will even be defended.
