The smart odds appear to be in for WWE Payback tonight. These are very long odds considering we didn’t see lines like this for both Fastlane and Wrestlemania. With odds like this the most likely reason would be insider leaks, however with more people than ever now gambling on WWE this may just be result of who gamblers are backing heavily. Either way, there is always a chance of upsets based on bad information or last minute changes to finishes.
The Hardy Boyz and Bray Wyatt are the most favored out of anyone else on the card. Both Wyatt and the Raw Tag Team Champions have odds of -13500 and this is a 99.01% probability in both matches. While the Hardyz were always heavily favored all along, The early markets had Randy Orton as a heavy favorite to defeat Bray Wyatt. This was puzzling for several reasons. The first being that Randy Orton’s WWE Championship is not on the line. Next is the fact that this is a “House of Horrors” match and while we don’t know exactly what this match is, it is Bray Wyatt’s creation and specialty match so he should probably win this. Finally, due to the Superstar ShakeUp, Bray Wyatt is on the Raw brand. Wyatt winning what is now and interbrand match makes the most sense.
In the case of the Hardyz, these lines could suggest just how serious WWE is about a major run for the Hardyz. Historical booking patterns would usually suggest that those getting beat on TV leading up to PPV end up winning at the PPV. The Hardyz beat their opponents, Cesaro and Shaemus, in singles matches on Raw the past two weeks and yet are graded as underdogs. This is a very interesting anomaly.
As usual, the women’s division are the most volatile in terms of line moves. After being very close, Bayley was just yesterday favored at -4500 but now they’ve flipped completely as it is now Alexa Bliss favored at the same -4500 odds. As always, this does not mean Bliss wins the Raw Women’s Championship, as a DQ or Count Out win is always possible.
Braun Strowman has been favored all along to beat Roman Reigns and now has odds of -5960. The attack on Reigns really raised Strowman’s stock and fans are accepting him as a big deal and these odds are no surprise. Another talent that has been favored from the beginning and held on to it is Seth Rollins favored at -7500 to beat Samoa Joe. This should come as a shock, considering the major plans WWE seems to have for Joe, however good storytelling can turn key losses into a way to further build a character.
Kevin Owen had been heavily favored to retain the United States Championship in a Wrestlemania rematch against Chris Jericho. Now Jericho is favored at -9250 which is also puzzling because Y2J goes on tour with Fozzy very soon. Neville is favored to retain against Austin Aries at -9250.
On the preshow, Enzo Amore and Big Cass are favored to defeat Gallows and Anderson with odds of -7500. The odds can still change leading up to show as bets are being taken right up until the bell rings for each match. Below are the full odds, a minus sign indicates the favorites and the plus symbol for the underdogs. The number after is how favored or unfavored particular competitors are. These odds all fall under “end of broadcast ruling” or “end of preshow ruling” in the case of the preshow tag match. This is to account for when an initial finish is overruled to account for any “Dusty Finish”.

- Roman Reigns was recently on Talk is Jericho and opened up about the Wrestlemania 31 main event with Brock Lesnar. He consideres Brock difficult to work with and that Lesnar and Heyman wanted Roman squashed in the match. Since, Reigns doesn’t mind physicality, he was able to adapt to Brock’s style. After the match Bret Hart approached Reigns and called the match an instant classic.
“No, it wasn’t easy, by any means. But the thing I had a lot of confidence in is I knew it was just going to be a fight. I knew it was going to be brutal and I like that s–t. Like, hey, if you want to bang, I’m all for it. I’m never scared. But it was just weird. It really was. It was last minute. It was one of those deals where it wasn’t a lot of talking, didn’t seem open to ideas because, essentially, in their minds, and when I say ‘their minds’ I say Brock and Paul, which, that is a powerful pairing right there.”Reigns recalled, “but those two, they’re something else. They wanted to kill me. They were convinced however many people were there eighty [thousand], whatever, they wanted to see me get crushed. They were there and they just want to see Roman get his ass beat. And I can’t disagree with them, but brother [has] got to fight. Hey, you can kick my ass all you want, but I’m going to fight.”

- WWE has filed a lawsuit against users of BitTorrent who illegally downloaded the WWE Studios film The Eliminators. Forensic software was used to determine the IPs of the culprits.
- Lita has tweeted both Matt and Jeff Hardy wishing them well in WWE. Lita is a long time friend of The Hardy Boyz but had a falling out years ago over a dramatic break up with Matt.
- WWE has announced that Kofi Kingston suffered an injury to his right ankle after an attack by The Revival. He underwent surgery and will be out a few weeks. This was also mentioned on Raw by the other members of The New Day as Kofi did not appear.
- Baron Corbin took it to twitter to call out the TSA for breaking his sunglasses.
- Alberto Del Rio was indeed contacted by the WWE about another return, however Alberto is happy and thriving wrestling other places.

Remembering Andre The Giant
Andre The Giant died 24 years ago today. He stood an astounding 7’4″ and was one of the tallest wrestlers in the world. He was born in France in 1946 and began his wrestling career at 17 years old, in his home country. In the 1970’s he made his way to the United States to wrestle for Verne Gangne, and Vince McMahon Sr. By the 1980′ s he was a larger than life superstar inside and outside the ring. He died January 27, 1993 at the young age of 46, in France.

Andre the Giant was a bit before my time, but he was a household name and I became a fan of the sport during his twilight years. I was really into Andre turning on The Heenan Family at Wrestlemania VI. I loved him in Cyndi Lauper’s music video, Goonies are good Enough Part 2.

La Luchadora Revealed!

SmackDown Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss and Becky Lynch made history with a Steel Cage Match for the title in the main event.
The two Superstars did not hold back, delivering an instant classic for Team Blue. The pendulum of momentum swung back and forth several times over, but, in the final moments, it seemed as though The Irish Lass Kicker was closing in on victory as she began to escape from the cage. Yet, her descent out of the cage was stopped as La Luchadora reared her head again, kicking Lynch in the head after applying the Dis-arm-her to Bliss. This allowed Bliss to connect with her patented DDT and retain the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
After the match, Bliss and La Luchadora continued their beat down on Lynch, until Lynch was able to find an opening and unmask La Luchadora to reveal none other than Mickie James! Bliss and James then got the best of Lynch again before James raised Bliss’ hand in victory after they felt the damage was sufficiently done.
