WWE Clash Of Champions Predictions!!

UPDATE – See the early betting odds for this event by clicking here!

It’s that time again! Sorry I have been really busy and not writing as much as I should be! I recently launched a new podcast about wrestling on an all-new internet radio station. I’ve been so busy I almost forgot the PPV was this Sunday!

You can watch it on the WWE Network for FREE if you are a new subscriber! If you live in the Boston area, you can still get tickets on Stubhub or TicketLiquidator, but as you already know, this will be a sold out show!

So here are my thoughts on the matches as they stand as of today:

Zack Ryder vs. Mojo Rawley – MOJO!!!!!!! Need I say more?

Breezango vs. The Bludgeon Brothers – Oh Breezango, what have you gotten yourselves into? I think that Harper and Rowan are going to murder them.

United States Champion Baron Corbin vs. Bobby Roode vs. Dolph Ziggler (Triple Threat Match) – I am so looking forward to this match!!! All these guys are great wrestlers, and are hard-hitting wrestlers. I think that Bobby Roode does have the ability to take the belt away from Corbin, however, I don’t think it will happen in a 3-way match, especially where Ziggler is involved.

Randy Orton & Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn (Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan as special guest referees) – Sigh. WHYYYYYYYYYYYY???? While I am sure this match will have its moment’s and I like all the guys involved, WHY???  Someone tell Owen and Zayn they are 6 years too late on the Occupy hype train, that crashed and burned 3 years ago fools. Lame. I don’t care who wins… this is stupid, fire whoever wrote this garbage, not Zayn and Owens.

SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos vs. The New Day vs. Shelton Benjamin & Chad Gable vs. Rusev & Aiden English (Fatal 4-Way Match) – I am so happy to see Shelton Benjamin back in action, even if he does have to team with Gable… (ha!) I think this match is gonna be your typical clusterfuck 4 way tag, with lots of broken bodies. The Uso’s will most likely retain…

SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair vs. Natalya (Lumberjack Match) – This match is going to be awesome! I love watching both these women wrestle, but sorry Charlotte, I gotta go with Nattie on this one! Get that title back on your waist where it belongs!!!

WWE Champion AJ Styles vs. Jinder Mahal – Sigh…. why? Wrestling was getting interesting again, and then we got slapped in the face with a momentum stopping bitchslap. I really don’t want to watch the same people wrestle again and again and again. Jinder lost… he is a cheater, and does he really deserve a rematch? Nah they won’t give us Styles vs Nakamura yet… But I would have much rather watched him wrestle Rusev than Mahal again. AJ will retain the championship, or WWE may be attempting to incite a riot in Boston.

While this is a “Smackdown” branded PPV, I am not as excited for it as I usually would be. The highlights of this PPV will be the women’s match and the tag team clusterfuck for me.

Major Upsets at WWE Summerslam Means the Leaks Have Finally Been Sealed! No More Spoilers.

5Dimes offers gambling odds of all WWE PPV Events and accept customers worldwide. Click Here To Visit 5Dimes.

The smart money odds never came in for this year’s Summerslam and it appears WWE has finally sealed the leaks that have been effecting the betting odds for years. Time will tell if this is a permanent policy to keep the outcomes under wraps. As a result there were 5 upsets out of 13 matches.

While Shinsuke Nakamura had been heavily favored to defeat Jinder Mahal in the WWE Championship match, those odds flipped hours before the match slightly in Mahal’s favor. Jinder ended up winning. Not exactly an upset by the final odds, however Nakamura was at -1500 at one point, so earlier bets on Mahal paid off nicely. The Smackdown Women’s Championship also flipped before the event in Natalya’s favor, as well and held up with Natty beating Naomi for the title.

John Cena was a slight underdog against Baron Corbin, however was able to win and this can be considered an upset.

Sasha Banks was able to win the WWE Raw Championship from Alexa Bliss as a slight underdog, however Banks had been favored throughout most of the week the before the odds flipped in Bliss’ favor.

Rusev was surprisingly favored to win from early on, and was able to hold on to the favorability up until the bell rang. Randy Orton pulled off the victory anyway, yet another upset.

The Usos, a +400 underdog, managed to successfully regain the Smackdown Tag Team Championships against the New Day at -600. Even in the first preshow match the odds did not hold up. The Miz and The Miztourage upset The Hardy Boyz and Jason Jordan.

If this trend continues, the landscape of the betting odds has effectively been changes and smart money leading to spoilers could be history.

Will Nakamura Win the WWE Championship at Summerslam? Can He Withstand a MitB Cash In?

The following odds are sourced from 5Dimes. Bets are taken from players worldwide.

The Summerslam Odds Tell a Revealing Story

In a historic encounter, and the first ever television match that has had betting odds, Shinsuke Nakamura has defeated John Cena clean in the middle of the ring on Smackdown to earn the opportunity to challenge WWE Champion Jinder Mahal at Summerslam. Originally, Cena was a slight favorite but began moving in the direction of Nakamura, at one point being a -750 favorite and the sports book projections proved to be accurate yet again.

Now there are already odds by 5Dimes on the Summerslam Championship match, with Nakamura  slightly favored at -160 to Jinder’s +120. As always this does not necessarily mean Shinsuke walks away with the title as a count out or DQ win would not transfer possession of the championship. In fact, the odds on who will walk out as champion still most favor Mahal, even with Shinsuke favored to win the match itself. A screwy finish here would further build Mahal as the “undeserving champion”, while helping Nakamura solidify himself as a top star.

Jinder is at +115 and Shinsuke +165 for being champion at the conclusion of Summerslam. A $100 bet on either would win the number after the plus signs so $115 on a Jinder win and $165 on a Nakamura win. This is because Jinder has better odds so gamblers win less on him because he’s more likely at this point to walk out champion than Shinsuke.

The chance of a Baron Corbin MitB cash in is also possible and the odds on this happening are +295. The odds against a successful cash is -415 so a $415 bet on Baron not being champion after Summerslam would yield only $100 as this likely doesn’t happen at all. This could also be the reason for Nakamura being less likely than Jinder to walk out as champion. Corbin would be more likely to cash in on Shinsuke as opposed to fellow heel Jinder Mahal.

WWE Champion at the Conclusion of Summerslam
Jinder Mahal +115
Shinsuke Nakamura +165
Baron Corbin +295

Who is Favored to be WWE Champion After Summerslam, Nakamura Now Slightly Favored over Cena

The following odds are sourced from 5Dimes. Bets are taken from players worldwide.

Can Jinder Mahal Keep the Momentum Through Summerslam

There are currently odds on who will be the WWE Champion at the conclusion of this year’s Summerslam in Brooklyn. The current champion, Jinder Mahal, has the best odds at +195 and this is understandable with Mahal being rumored to in for a long championship reign.

The other three possibilities that have odds are Shinsuke Nakamura, John Cena and Baron Corbin. Nakamura at +215 and John Cena at +230 are very close in the odds, with Nakamura having the slight edge. This is no surprise as the odds for tonight’s Smackdown match between the two men have shifted in favor of Shinsuke. The former New Japan star is favored to beat Cena at -150, with Cena the underdog at +110. This may not seem like a wide margin, and it isn’t, but it’s worth mentioning that yesterday Cena was slightly favored in this match, which has now changed. Cena leaving the Smackdown Brand and heading to RAW after Summerslam is also a relevant detail in both the Smackdown Match and who walks out of Summerslam Champion.

Baron Corbin also has odds set to be WWE Champion at the conclusion of Summerslam at +435. This would involve “The Lone Wolf” cashing in the Money in the Bank briefcase at the event. It is known that WWE is very high on Corbin’s potential, almost all MitB winners have successfully cashed in and Smackdown is in desperate need of building top level star power, especially with Cena leaving the brand at Summerslam.

Who Will Be WWE Champion Immediately Following Summerslam?

Jinder Mahal +195

Shinsuke Nakamura +215

John Cena +230

Baron Corbin +435

Smackdown Match 8/1

John Cena +110 vs Shinsuke Nakamura -150

Betting Odds on Cena vs Nakamura for This Tuesday on Smackdown Live

The following odds are sourced from 5Dimes. Bets are taken from players worldwide.

Bet on Cena vs Nakamura on Smackdown

For the first time ever, bets are being taken for a WWE televised match, as opposed to odds only being offered on PPV matches that we have seen in the past. This may become a trend, but for now it’s limited to one match only and it is a match with high stakes. The match being the first ever match between John Cena and Shinuke Nakamura and the states being which competitor goes on to challenge WWE Champion Jinder Mahal at SummerSlam. The match in question will happen live on Smackdown, Tuesday August 1.

Not only are there high stakes in this match, but this is also a much discussed “dream match” that has been discussed ever since Nakamura joined the WWE’s developmental program last year. Once would assume this match would be huge enough to be on PPV itself, and it definitely is. This match is probably drawing more interest than either Cena or Nakamura would challenging Mahal for the championship.

The television ratings as of recent have approached abysmal levels and this match may be designed to be broadcasted live on Smackdown to attempt to correct these low ratings. With sports books taking notice enough to designate odds this is a strong indication that WWE will succeed with this attraction.

Right now John Cena is slightly favored at -145 to Nakamura’s +105. These odds are close and can be looked to as very close to even. To editorialize, the chances of a draw or non-finish leading to both men participating in the SummerSlam match challenging Jinder is a fair, if not likely, prediction. When gambling it must be mentioned that draws or non-finishes result in the bet being canceled and money refunded.

John Cena Teams Up with Shinsuke Nakamura

After the 205 Live broadcast Tuesday night, the dark match for the live audience saw the team Of John Cena and Shinsuke Nakamura vs Rusev and Baron Corbin. While Nakamura vs Corbin has not yet been officially announced for Battleground, with the recent interactions between the two men this match seems to be inevitable. Both are currently being groomed to be top stars on the Smackdown roster and this match will be of extreme importance to both.

New WWE Network Collections

The WWE Network has added some exciting new choices in its “collections” section. Hall of Famer Razor Ramon has his own collections that are worth checking out. Another new addition is one that is going to get an insane amount of watch time because it is Piper’s Pit. Over 30 years arguable the number one talker in wrestling history is now available on the WWE Network.

Okada Backstage at RAW

After the New Japan G1 in California, IWGP Champion Kazuchika Okada headed to Pheonix to visit Finn Balor at WWE RAW. Of course this drew speculation that Okada was in talks to join the WWE, but as mentioned he was simply visiting Balor. This has not been the first time Okada had appeared backstage at WWE as he was also at SummerSlam as a guest of Shinsuke Nakamura.

Kofi’s Massive Screw Up on Live Television

During the Smackdown Rap Battle between The New Day and The Usos, Kofi Kingston seriously botched a line concerning geometry. Kofi referred to a stop sign as a hexagon when the shape is actually an octagon. Kingston posted a video on Instagram mocking himself for the mistake, even editing in a photo of a New Day action figure set that included a stop sign.

 Another Tag Team Splitting Up?

During the Battle Royal on Smackdown, Mojo Rawley eliminated his tag team partner Zack Ryder. Many feel this will lead to the team splitting but it seems very difficult which would be doing the heel turn. Mojo is the aggressor, but his actions were appropriate given the “every man for himself” nature of a Battle Royal.  For what it’s worth, The Hype Bros were never intended to be a long-running tag team. It has certainly been an effective tactic in integrating Mojo to the main roster.

Use Betting Odds for WWE Money in the Bank Predictions

While it doesn’t appear that the smart money has come in for tonight’s Money in the Bank as of press time, the odds have moved significantly. For days the Usos vs New Day match was an even bet with no favorite but now the Usos are favored to retain at -185 but these odds are the closest call of the entire card. The New Day are +145 so a $100 bet would win 4145 with them being the underdogs.

Baron Corbin is favored to win the MitB match, as he has been all along with odds of -350 so anything other than Corbin capturing the briefcase would be considered an upset. The competitor with the next best chances would be Shinsuke Nakamura, with odds of +500. In the Women’s MitB Carmella’s odds have increased with her now at -265 after being the favorite all along. Charlotte has the next best chances at +400.

Jinder Mahal has the most favorable odds on the card at -900. Orton winning in his hometown would be the greatest upset that could happen tonight. Naomi is favored to successfully retain the Smackdown Women’s Championship at -270.

The smart money may still come in, sometimes this happens immediately before the event and often they don’t happen at all. Worth mentioning is that the smart odds were 100% correct in their projections at Extreme Rules earlier this month.

WWE’s Money in the Bank PPV will be June 18, and already betting odds for the main event have been set by sports books. Of the six entrants in the MitB match itself, Baron Corbin stands apart from the pack as a favorite with odds of -190. This puts Corbin at a 65% probability to acquire the briefcase. A $165 wager would be needed to win $100.

Among the other wrestlers involved in this match Kevin Owens has the next best odds at +575, only a 15% probability. AJ Styles and Sami Zayn are not too far away from KO in their chances for winning at +600. Shinsuke Nakamura has odds of +700 and the dark horse, Dolph Ziggler has very slim chances at +2500. Putting Dolph’s odds in perspective, a successful $100 bet would yield a massive $2500.

There are several other announced matches at Money in the Bank, however the men’s MitB is the only one that has odds posted as of press time. The others will most likely be posted the week of the event. It is rare for matches to have betting odds available this early in the game, but Baron Corbin was rumored to be winning it months ago, before any participants had even been announced so there is precedent for setting these lines. The informed prediction would suggest that the odds will move even further in the direction of Corbin and right now could be the best possible bet anyone will be able to make on him before his odds get longer.

WWE Money in the Bank Ladder Match

Baron Corbin -190

Kevin Owens +575

AJ Styles +600

Sami Zayn +600

Shinsuke Nakamura +700

Dolph Ziggler +2500
