Who is Favored to Win at AEW Revolution in the AEW Championship Match?

AEW Revolution 2023 will take place at The Chase in San Francisco, CA on March 5. While the event will begin at 8PM Eastern Time, the “Buy In” Pre-Show will begin at 7PM. This event can be watched live all over the world. In the United States, Revolution will air on B/R Live or Traditional Cable or Satellite Television for the price of $49.99. Outside of the United States this event will be available on FITE.tv.

This will be the 4th annual incarnation of AEW Revolution, the first taking place in 2020. This year’s offering has no matches announced officially, however the main event can be considered a foregone conclusion in that it will be AEW World Champion MJF defending against Brian Danielson. The reason this match isn’t yet official is because Danielson needs to earn this title opportunity by defeating a new opponent chosen by the champion every week until Revolution.

This gauntlet the Danielson must run through is merely a formality to add build and story to the eventual title match, which upon earning will be a 60 minute Iron Man Match as chosen by the challenger. An 60 minute match of any kind would seemingly put Danielson at an advantage however betting odds have already been set by BetOnline for this match and they don’t favor him. The odds favor MJF to retain successfully and they are very lopsided at -5000 in the champion’s favor. This would mean it would take a successful $5000 wager to win only $100. Danielson on the other hand is a +900 underdog meaning a mere $100 would win $900 upon success.

Typically with championship matches, there is the possibility for a champion to hang on to their championship while still losing by count out or disqualification as titles in a regular match must be by pinball or submission. This is not going to happen in an Iron Man match as the winner is decided by how many falls they are are able to win. DQs and count outs could happen in an Iron Man match, however they will not decide the match directly but rather be counted as falls in the overall match itself.

When this match is officially announced, it will not be out of the realm of expectations for some “prop bets” related to this match to be set. A few possible examples of what we could be seeing for prop bets would be –
Which wrestler will score the first fall?
An over/under wager on how many total falls will occur?
How many falls will be by pinfall, submission, DQ and count out(these would all be separate props and there could be 3 separate props for each based on how many total, how many by MJF and how many by Brian Danielson).

Speaking of prop bets, there is currently one available regarding MJF’s title reign. This wager is an if MJF will still be AEW Champion by the end of 2023 and the odds for this is in his favor at -200. Odds against MJF still being champion by the end of this year is +150. The only variable for this bet that matters is if MJF will be champion at the stroke of midnight going into 2024 and this means he could lose the championship and regain it multiple times by year’s end and as long as he has it at that point it’s a winning bet.

These odds for AEW Revolution are likely to change in the weeks leading up until the matches and may have already shifted. Follow the betting odds in real time at BetOnline.
