Donald Trump WWE Royal Rumble

Donald Trump’s Odds of Winning WWE Royal Rumble

Believe it or not United States President Donald J Trump has odds for this Sunday’s WWE Royal Rumble. 30 men compete in an over the top rope rumble and the winner gets a championship title shot at Wrestlemania 33. Trump has odds of 1000/1 to win the match and he’s not even scheduled to be in attendance. To put this in perspective a $1 bet could win $1000. Former President Barack Obama has the same odds. The same sports book is offering odds on Donald Trump being given honorary knighthood by the United Kingdom. These can be found under the novelties section of the sports book Paddy Power and can be visited by [clink id=”14″]clicking here[/clink]. This is an Irish sportbook and does not take wagers from the United States and Canada but does in many other nations.

This wouldn’t the President’s first time getting involved with the WWE however, Donald hosted Wrestlemania IV and V at Trump Plaza. Trump would also be the top attraction for Wrestlemania 23 in the “Battle of the Billionaires” and defeated WWE Owner Vince McMahon. The two Billionaires recruited a WWE Superstar to do battle for them by proxy in the squared circle in front of a sellout audience of 80,103, the largest crows ever at Ford Field in Detroit. McMahon chose Umaga, a 6’4″, 350 pound Samoan-American. Trump answered by selecting Bobby Lashley, a 6’3″ 278 pound 3-time Intercollegiate NAIA champion powerhouse. Both Vince and Donald agreed to put their hair on the line in this match. All of these moments can been seen by signing up for free to the WWE Network [clink id=”2″]by clicking here[/clink].

During the match itself, The Donald would end up clotheslining Vince on the floor outside the ring. Ultimately, Trump would be victorious when Lashley pinned Umaga in the middle of the ring. Afterwards, Lashley, Trump and special guest referee “Stone Cold” Steve Austin made good on the stipulation and shaved Mr. McMahon’s head in the ring.

Then there was an in ring celebration led by Austin passing out beers, which Trump accepted and poured out when “Stone Cold” wasn’t looking because The President abstains from alcohol. donald trump wrestlemaniaAustin would end up giving a stunner to Donald Trump. Trump’s people backstage advised him not to take the move, but in the end it was Donald’s decision and because of this we are bestowed the gift of one of the most memorable Wrestlemania moments of all time. Accomplished pay-per-view a buy rate of 1,048,000, a record that still stands today.

Trump would return to WWE, when he purchased WWE from Vince McMahon. The Donald showed up to run the June 22, 2009 edition of WWE RAW. Under Trump’s ownership and management, gave the ticket buying audience a full refund, rendering a free night of entertainment. He also rebooked the matches for the night so the WWE Universe got better entertainment. By the end of the night McMahon made a deal with The President to buy back the company for twice what he originally sold it for earlier that day.

The 2013 WWE Hall of Fame would see Donald Trump be inducted by Vince McMahon. He is the only President in the United States to ever be inducted. Also in that year’s class Bruno Sammartino, Bob Backlund, Trish Stratus, Booker T and Mick Foley.

As far as the possibility of Trump winning this year’s Royal Rumble, it’s only a matter of showing up. If The President enters the match, it’s not imaginable that he would lose. That would guarantee an appearance at Wrestlemania 33 in Orlando. Having just been sworn in 9 days before the rumble, it seems extremely unlikely that Donald would show up at all however. A Wrestlemania appearance is likely at some point, though this year is probably not the year. There is a fair chance he could show up in December for the WWE’s Annual Tribute to the Troops event, at least via satellite. There’s still the WWE connection because Linda McMahon, Vince’s wife, earned a position in The President’s cabinet as head of the Small Business Administration.
