Royal Rumble Pregame Report for Sunday Betting Odds

The following odds have been sourced from 5Dimes, who accept gamblers from all countries and accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Debit Cards and Bitcoin.

Men’s Royal Rumble

There hasn’t been much change to the Royal Rumble betting odds overnight, however the lines are now available to bettors worldwide in every country, and this is when we see the most drastic moves, dramatic shifts and also may see some projected outcomes flip altogether.

Let’s take a look at every match on the card and recount how the lines have gone up until now, starting with the Men’s Royal Rumble itself. Since the 2017 Royal Rumble ended, odds were already out for the 2018 Rumble, so we’ve had a year to follow these lines and that’s exactly what we have been doing all along. For most of the last year it was Roman Reigns who was favored to win the 2018 Royal Rumble. It’s no secret that the long term plan of the WWE was for Roman to finally get a one on one rematch with Brock Lesnar at this year’s Wrestlemania in New Orleans. He would get this rematch and challenge for Brock’s Universal Championship by winning the Royal Rumble for the second time.

While Reigns had been favored all along, this is no longer the case, as since last week it had been Shinsuke Nakamura who is the leading favorite to win the Rumble. This would presumably lead to a dream match with Nakamura challenging AJ Styles for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania. Based on the long history between Styles and Nakamura dating back to their days in New Japan Pro Wrestling through their brief exchange in the 2017 Money in the Bank match where time seemed to stand still, this potential match already has massive buzz and Wrestlemania is the only stage that can even come close to containing this appeal.

While Roman Reigns is still the second most likely to win the Rumble based on the odds, two unexpected names are in the third and fourth most favored positions. If you believe these current odds, both Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler has a legitimate chance to win this match, even though neither have even been announced as being part of it. Dolph was last seen relinquishing the United States Championship, causing the need for a tournament for the vacant title which was eventually won by Bobby Roode in glorious fashion. This leads many to believe that Ziggler has his eye on a more grandiose accomplishment and a Rumble win could be just that.

Daniel Bryan is even more puzzling as he hasn’t wrestled in years since being taken out of the game by “career ending” injuries. It’s no secret that if Bryan had his way, he would be an active performer right now but WWE is not willing to risk Bryan’s health. Bryan has since been serving as the GM of Smackdown Live, a role he appears miserable in. Rumors that Daniel has been secretly cleared exist, however there has not been any solid evidence of this other than these betting odds.

A few details that need to be considered are firstly the rumors that bets on Nakamura, Ziggler and Bryan are being placed internally by someone from the WWE in order to protect the finish of this match. This is a possibility, however if it is true it would most likely mean Roman Reigns is still winning. This brings us to the second consideration of what would happening Roman were to win the Rumble in Philadelphia, where he was booed out of the building even with a surprise appearance by his cousin “The Rock” Dwayne Johnson. Will WWE take this risk for a second time or will they redeem themselves by slotting victory for an “internet darling” like Nakamura, Ziggler or Bryan?

Women’s Royal Rumble

Taking a look at the historic, first ever Women’s Royal Rumble initially saw the most favored performer being Ronda Rousey, who has never even had a single professional wrestling match in her life and is not even advertised for the event. While Rousey winning this would generate the most press, the common criticism is that with this match being so historic that the eventual winner should be a Woman who has been dedicated to her craft for years, working a grueling schedule on the road and paying her dues as a professional wrestler.

Register with 5Dimes to Follow the Odds and Place Bets

Rousey is no longer favored as she and Asuka have been ping ponging as the most likely to win several times, but Asuka has been holding on consistently for at least the past 24 hours. Ronda has publicly stated that she had “better things to do” than be at the Rumble. Ronda could be of course fibbing about this in order to preserve her being there as the massive surprise that the betting odds would have otherwise spoiled for the world. Rousey did make an appearance at Wrestlemania 31 where she gave Stephanie McMahon her much needed comeuppance and a match between the two women had at one point been planned. Stephanie did announce she would be at the commentary table for the Women’s Rumble and for what it’s worth is the 4th most likely to actually win the match itself according to betting odds.

Universal Championship Triple Threat

Brock Lesnar has two challengers for his Universal Championship and his opponents in this Triple Threat Match are Braun Strowman and Kane. Many criticize that Kane is simply in this match to take the fall and protect Braun, who already took a pinfall loss to Lesnar last year. Brock has always been favored to win this match and his odds have gotten even more favorable than they had been initially. This has been lockstep with the idea that Roman Reigns will be challenging Lesnar for that Universal Championship at Wrestlemania in April. Some feel that Strowman will somehow walk away as champion, and while anything can happen, the odds have never reflected this.

WWE Championship Handicap Match

Like Lesnar, AJ Styles will be defending the WWE Championship against two opponents. The difference is that his opponents, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, will be challenging as a team to become “co-champions” in a handicap match as opposed to a Triple Threat. This means that Kevin and Sami have the advantage of working cooperatively towards a common goal, whereas Kane and Strowman will be competing with each other. Even with the lopsided advantage “Team Kami” have, AJ is still favored to successfully defend his Championship.

Raw and Smackdown Tag Team Championships

Both the Raw and Smackdown Tag Team Championships will be defended as well at the event, with both sets of challengers slightly favored to win. In these cases the projections do not mean that the challengers walk away as champions because either could win by DQ or Count Out, which wouldn’t see the titles change hands. As said, the odds are still close in these two matches and are the toughest to call out of all the matches.

Right now challengers Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin are favored to defeat Smackdown Champions The Usos. With Jey Uso recently charged with a DUI, many feel losing the titles would be a corporate penalty for the shame and embarrassment the arrest caused the WWE. For the Raw Championship, Sheamus and Cesaro are favored to beat the team of Seth Rollins and Jason Jordan. Many are predicting an eventual heel turn by Jason, and this match could be what ultimately facilitate this.

It’s time for my second favorite PPV of the year, second only to WrestleMania, its time for the Royal Rumble. This year is going to be special as it is the first ever WOMEN’S Rumble match as well as the traditional Men’s Rumble match.

There’s going to be a lot of the Rumble to watch this Sunday considering the 4-hour Rumble PPV itself and the 2-hour pre-show on the WWE Network.

So here is the rundown along with my picks for the winners. Let’s start off with the just announced pre-show matches.

The Revival v. The Balor Club (Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows): The Revival seem to be snakebitten since coming up to the Raw roster with one injury after another, and with the seemingly revived interest in the Good Brothers since joining up with Finn Balor. I see the former IWGP Tag Champs winning this one. WINNERS: Gallows and Anderson

Lince Dorado, Kalisto, and Gran Metalik vs TJP, Jack Gallagher, and Drew Gulak: With the loss of Enzo Amore, (thankfully) the 205 Live division is in need of new top heel. This match has two great options and TJP. If WWE cares at all about this division they’ll push Gallagher AND Drew Gulak to the top as monster heels like Enzo and Neville were. WINNERS: TJP, Jack Gallagher, and Drew Gulak

Bobby Roode will also issue an open challenge for his US Title. Personally, I think Dolph Ziggler will be the one to answer the challenge since he never lost the title in the first place. This is going to be the first shot in what I think will be a great feud culminating at WrestleMania. WINNER: Bobby Roode.

Now it’s on to the actual Rumble PPV itself. Since there are now TWO Rumble matches on this PPV, I personally think they are going to bookend the PPV with the Rumble matches so there’s a good chance that the Women’s Rumble is going to kick off the main show.

First Ever 30 Woman Royal Rumble: This is the match I am most looking forward to seeing out of this entire card and I’m not even going to try to lie about that. I’m looking forward to seeing who the surprise entries are, who the legends are that are coming back and who is returning (The Bellas, c’mon, we know this is coming) but in the end, I think the Empress of Tomorrow keeps her streak intact. WINNER: Asuka

Smackdown Tag Team Titles: The Usos v Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin: With all the trouble that Jimmy Uso has recently gone through (DUI) I do think that the Usos will lose the titles here, but my only question about this 2 out of 3 falls match is will this match go all 3 falls? Will the Usos be punished by losing both falls? Also, keep Chad Gable off the mic. WINNERS: Gable and Benjamin

Raw Tag Team Titles: Seth Rollins and Jason Jordan v The Bar (Sheamus and Cesaro): I honestly don’t know who the crowds hate more. Roman or Jason Jordan. Having the titles on Jordan and Rollins just down look or feel right so not only do I think The Bar regain the titles but its result of Jordan costing the team and match and turning on Rollins. WINNERS: Sheamus and Cesaro

WWE World Heavyweight Title: AJ Styles v. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn: I’m still confused about what exactly is going to happen if Owens or Zayn makes the pinfall. Who is the champion then? Both of them? The one who makes the pinfall is the champ? What happens? Fortunately, these questions will never have to be answered because AJ is going to win. WINNER: AJ Styles

WWE Universal Title: Brock Lesnar v. Braun Strowman v. Kane: One thing I hate in wrestling is predictability. We sadly know that Mania is going to be Lesnar v. Roman. So this match is just to put Lesnar and Braun over. I REALLY want Braun to win this match but I know it’s not going to happen. WINNER: Brock Lesnar

30 Man Royal Rumble match: I’m looking forward to this match as I do every year but I’m not as excited for this one as I am for the women’s Rumble match. Like all Rumble matches, I want to see the surprises and the returns. I like to expect the unexpected in these matches, you never know who is coming out next. If WWE wants Lesnar v Roman at Mania then they better give us AJ v. Shinsuke Nakamura at Mania as well. Also, if Roman or Cena win this match Philly will burn to the ground. WINNER: Shinsuke Nakamura

Here’s hoping that this is one of the better Rumbles that we’ve seen in recent memory. It’s looking like its going to be 2-minute entries instead of the usual 90 seconds, which honestly I’m not a fan of but this I can’t wait for otherwise.
Enjoy the Rumble ladies and gents, you can catch it LIVE on the WWE Network!

The opening odds have been set for both the Raw and Smackdown Championships and sees both sets of challengers as favorites, though not by much. In both cases, this does not necessarily indicate any championships changing hands due to the infamous “champion’s advantage” stipulation that forbids a title switch due to a count out or disqualification outcome.

On the Raw side of the tag team division it is Cesaro and Sheamus(The Bar) who are favored to win at -150. The Bar will be challenging Seth Rollings and Jason Jordan, who hold the titles currently and have odds of +100, an even bet. This is extremely close currently.

On the Smackdown end, the Champions are also not the team that is favored to win. The Usos, who are the current champions, have odds of +120 making them the slightest of underdogs. Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin, the challengers, are favored at -162 and this will be a classic two out of three falls match.

As for the rest of the card, there have been no major changes overnight. Brock Lesnar is still favored to retain the Universal Championship Triple Threat Match, AJ Styles is still the favorite in the Handicap Match for the WWE Championship and both Shinsuke Nakamura and Ronda Rousey are projected to win the Men’s and Women’s Royal Rumble Matches respectively. UPDATE: Asuka is once again most favored to win the Women’s Royal Rumble, once again being the most favored to win it all.

As usual, the most accurate odds in regards to final outcomes will be available the day of the Royal Rumble itself.

John Cena No Longer Favored to Win the Royal Rumble, But Who is the New Favorite?

A New Front Runner Emerges in the Royal Rumble

After nearly a year of Roman Reigns being long favored to win the 2018 WWE Royal Rumble in Philadelphia, it would be John Cena who would snatch the #1 most favorable odds away from “The Big Dog”, but this didn’t last very long. After both Roman and Shinsuke Nakamura were tied in a dead heat for the top positioning in the Rumble, Nakamura is now the most likely to win according to these odds at +140. This gives “The King of Strong Style” a probability of over 40% to win this match.

If this ends up holding true, it will presumably lead to the epic Wrestlemania match many ardent fans are dying to see with WWE Champion AJ Styles defending against Shinsuke. Both of these very talented performers were active at the same time in New Japan Pro Wrestling before coming to the WWE system and teased a major encounter in their Money in the Bank Ladder match. Time stood still as these two lock gazes in this match and let the audience soak in the moment and omen of a future meeting on a grander stage.

As for John Cena, his odds have been knocked down to +400, however Dolph Ziggler has been upgraded to have identical odds to Cena. This means both have the same probability of winning the match. Many were lest wondering what’s next for Ziggler since he vacated the United States Championship and a Rumble win might be the answer. It will be especially interesting to see how Ziggler’s odds move from now until the Rumble on January 28.

Here is the most current odds available for nearly 100 possible Rumble winners.

Universal Championship – Who is Favored in the Triple Threat Match?

Who Will Prevail at the Royal Rumble?

WORLDWIDE ODDS are now available through 5Dimes, accepting bettors from all over the globe. CLICK HERE to visit 5Dimes to place your bets or just follow the dramatically changing betting odds.

When it was revealed that Brock Lesnar would be defending the Universal Championship against two opponents, Braun Strowman and Kane, ardent consumers of WWE were initially puzzled about Kane being involved in the match. Shortly thereafter the consensus was that Kane was added to the match so that neither Strowman nor Lesnar would have to take a pinfall or submission loss. For those unaware, a Triple Threat match creates a situation where a championship can be lost without actually being beaten outright.

Lesnar is currently favored to retain at the Royal Rumble, with odds of -500. This means it would take a $500 bet to win only $100. This makes both Braun Strowman at +300 and Kane at +1000 the underdogs. A $100 bet on Kane upon success would yield $1000.

Lesnar and Strowman met one on one for Brock’s championship in September of last year at the PPV No Mercy and saw the champion defeat the challenger with his finisher, the F5. This was heavily criticized, as the current landscape of important WWE matches usually requires MULTIPLE finishers to defeat an opponent. To be fair, Braun did dominate Lesnar in both the match itself and the scuffles and brawls leading up to it.

With the idea that Kane is only involved to take the pin or be submitted, it would be very interesting to see a prop bet on which competitor will be the one to do so, however no such wager yet exists. Wagering on this particular match is only available to bettors in the UK and Ireland right now, but will be available to gamblers worldwide sometime before the Royal Rumble event.

Shortly after the first ever Women’s Royal Rumble had been announced by the WWE, the gambling odds were set by the oddsmakers. Early odds had the most favored to win being MMA standout Ronda Rousey. This was shocking as Rousey, although inking a deal with WWE last year, has not yet competed in one match. Ronda did get the better of both Triple H and Stephanie McMahon at Wrestlemania 31 in a brief scuffle defending Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Rumors of Ronda joining the WWE have been rabid ever since.

While not yet being announced as a participant in the Women’s Royal Rumble, Rousey was the outright favorite. A shift has occurred and the undefeated Asuka has risen to the top of the odds and is the most favored at +162. Ronda has dropped to +175, leaving her second most likely to win.

Another frontrunner is Paige with odds of +600. Paige recently returned with her new group “Absolution” and is getting very impressive reactions. Becky Lynch at +700 is the most favored of the Smackdown roster and Nia Jax is at +1000.

Some interesting possible entrants include Stephanie McMahon at +2000, Maria Menounos at +3300 and Lana at +3300. Possible women returning to the WWE for the Royal Rumble include AJ Lee, Beth Phoenix, The Bella Twins, and Trish Stratus, each with individual odds of +2500. Michelle McCool and Stacey Keibler each have odds of +3300 and Torrie Wilson has odds of +5000.

Major Shift in Royal Rumble Frontrunner

The new year has arrived as we inch towards the Road to Wrestlemania and it all starts with the Royal Rumble in Philadelphia January 28 and live on the WWE Network. The main attraction of this event is the Royal Rumble match itself, a match with decades of history and decided who will go on to the main event of Wrestlemania for a shot a either the WWE Championship of the Universal Championship. Although the Rumble match is limited to 30 superstars, odds are available on over 100 possible entrants and these bets would be speculative at this point.

While odds have been available for most of 2017, those odds gave the best chance to Roman Reigns winning as it has been generally believed that Reigns challenging Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship would be the main event of Wrestlemania this is no longer the case. Roman has unfinished business with Lesnar since Wrestlemania 31, but the new favorite to win the Rumble is John Cena with odds of +225. Reigns is still a close second at +250.

Shinsuke Nakamura has very respectable odds of +275, only marginally behind Cena and Reigns, however AJ Styles is next on the list at +500. With AJ already being WWE Champion, he likely will not even be a participant in the Rumble match. For unknown reasons, Raw Tag Team Champion Seth Rollins is at +800, while his tag team partner Jason Jordan has far less favorable odds at +3300. Jordan replaced an injured Dean Ambrose in that tag team, and although he will likely miss the Royal Rumble, Ambrose still has odds of +2000. Bobby Roode and Braun Strowman have identical odds of +1000.

There are actually many possible entrants that aren’t even in the WWE currently. Goldberg has odds to win of +3300. With odds of +2500, NJPW US Champion Kenny Omega is another long shot but still has better odds than his WrestleKingdom opponent Chris Jericho. Y2J has odds of +3300. The Rock and Undertaker both have odds of +5000 and considering that Taker will be at the 25th Anniversary of RAW, this could be a worthy pick at those lines.

Even CM Punk, who walked out of WWE after the Royal Rumble 4 years ago, has odds of +6600 to return and win it. Shawn Michaels has odds of +8000, while Ryback and Bubba Ray Dudley have odds of +10000. With odds of +15000, both “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and Ronda Rousey can be wagered on as well. Rousey is the only woman of this list.

Hulk Hogan, Darren Young, Jerry Lawler, Kevin Nash and James Ellsworth all have odds of +20000.

Even some non-wrestlers have odds to win including Floyd Mayweather, Conor McGregor, Vin Diesel, Barck Obama and President Donald Trump.
