And the show you may want to skip?

Joey Janelas Spring Break 2

Why? Because we feel that Joey Janela puts his opponents at risk for his own benefit. He has been wrestling far too long to wrestle this unsafely, and honestly, we are astounded that this mark hasn’t seriously injured any of his opponents yet. He disrespects not only those who came before him, but his callous behavior and recklessness also show disrespect for the entire wrestling industry. Even advertising it as a “Clusterfuck” is disrespectful. We seriously hope he doesn’t do anything to put the promoter’s license being used for this show in jeopardy so he can get his rock off. And besides, who over 25 besides perverts and losers go to “Spring Break”?

Sadly while we do not support nor have any respect for Janela, there is some great talent on this card.

Already announced:

Janela vs. Great Sasuke

Mike Quackenbush vs. David Starr

Matt Riddle vs. James Ellsworth

WALTER vs. PCO

Nick Gage vs. Penta 0M

We Almost Saw the Bully Ray Character in WWE But There’s an Interesting Reason Why it was Nixed

Bully Ray is on his own again as a singles wrestler since long-time tag team partner Devon Dudley is retired and working behind the scenes in WWE. But this is how Bully Ray prefers things and he revealed that his first WWE stint ended because he wanted to be a single wrestler. He almost got his wish on this recent stint because he was very close to splitting off and becoming Bully Ray in WWE.

In an interview with ESPN.com, he talked about how close WWE was to pulling the trigger on that character. He said;

“We were one day away from becoming Bully Ray in WWE.” He continued, “One of the problems with having Bully Ray in the WWE was the word bully. How could they have a guy named Bully when they had the ‘Be a STAR’ program? It was a little too risky for them.”

Although many WWE heels play bullies, the issue with the Bully Ray character is that the company felt that the entire character was centered around bullying people and that was too risky for Be a STAR.

He left WWE on good terms and eventually joined ROH. He said, “They were actually interested in bringing in both me and D-Von into Ring of Honor, which would’ve been insane. D-Von had made a life decision where he wanted to devote a little more time to his family and physically in the ring wanted to slow it down just a little bit. I still have gas in the tank. I think Ring of Honor was the perfect place for me to continue as Bully Ray.” He added that he had a huge offer to return to Impact Wrestling but he knew that it was not the right decision and he is in love the the passion of the ROH locker room and the fans.

He still has a lot left in the tank so it doesn’t look like retirement is in his immediate future but when the day comes then he could end up taking on a role behind-the-scenes. He added, “I have been asked in the past by the higher-ups in WWE if I’d be interested in being a producer, and when the time is right hopefully that position is still available.”

I’d say that things are going well for him and the move to ROH was a wise one. He hasn’t been with ROH for too long and he is already a 6-man Tag Team Champion alongside The Briscoe Brothers.

My first trip to Wrestlemania

So as I write this I am sitting at the airport, and my plane has been delayed. But I have to say I am super duper stoked for this trip!

Update:
The delay wasn’t so bad, and despite being miffed they ended up making me check my carry on, it all worked out.

We rented a place by a lake for the week, so its incredibly quiet and perfect for work when we aren’t out and about. Since I live in LA, I got used to hearing helicopters, sirens, car alarms, and other nonsense all night, out here its just us and the crickets.

We officially get started tomorrow, and have events lined up all day. First we will be headed to PromoterCon, then we are headed to WrestleMania Axxess which is like WWE’s version of a wrestling convention, and then I hear we may hit the ROH show up, which would would be great first day out. We plan on hitting quite a few of the independent events up that are happening including “Brian Christopher’s Too Sexy Wrestlemania Party” On Friday night.

The WWE events we will be attending this week are Axxess on Thursday, Hall of Fame on Friday, Wrestlemania on Sunday, RAW on Monday, and Smackdown Live on Tuesday.

To follow all the fun, make sure you follow us on social media @BetWrestling on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat! Feel free to hit us up to hang out!

Odds on Daniel Bryan Going to NJPW, ROH, Impact and Wrestling Again in WWE

The following European Market odds are from Paddy Power. Wagers are not available from all countries. Visit Paddy Power [clink id=”14″]by clicking here[/clink].

Bryan’s Next Move

Much buzz has been created by the Daniel Bryan teasing that he will be wrestling again outside of the WWE next year when his contract runs out. There are actually odds on what promotion Daniel Bryan will return to the ring in. The most favorable odds are on him signing with NJPW by the end of 2018, a promotion in Japan he has expressed interest in. The current odds are 11/10, however yesterday’s odds had been 11/8 meaning many are taking the bet and feel it is a legit possibility. The line moved in a more favorable direction and is very close to an even bet because of this.

Bets may also be made on if he will appear in TNA Impact Wrestling by the end of 2018 at 10/1, which would multiply your money tenfold if he shows up in TNA even once. This would be a great boost for the restructured promotion but the odds say it won’t happen. Not surprisingly Daniel has much better odds to return to ROH, the promotion where he first made a name for himself and caused him to be noticed by the WWE. The odds of this happening before the end of 2018 are 9/4.

There are even odds on Bryan wrestling at least one match in WWE by the end of this year at 7/1. This gives Bryan a 12.5% chance of wresting by the end of the year. The situation is that he wants to wrestle but WWE will not allow him to due to his previous injuries. He is extremely frustrated about not being able to continue his passion of performing in from on live crowds and has teased going elsewhere in the past. There has also been an ongoing rivalry between The Miz and Bryan over different styles of wrestling and Bryan no longer wrestling while Miz is thriving near the top of the card.

One element that is worth mentioning is the fact that not only is Daniel Bryan married to Brie Bella, but also that they are expecting the birth of their daughter who they have already been named “Birdie Joe”. Brie has also expressed wanting more children so Bryan needs to consider that WWE is a more secure way to provide for the family he is building with Brie. His safety is also an issue and he is in such perilous condition that, as mentioned, the WWE will not let him wrestle because of this. If it were to happen, expect Bryan to return to using the name  “American Dragon” Brian Danielson due to intellectual property rights over the Daniel Bryan name.
