10-5-2017- Stan Hansen and Bruiser Brody VS Funk Brothers

Well fellow wrestling fans, this gem of match was found in the deepest, darkest pits of youtube itself hahaha. But in all seriousness this match was given the rare 5 star rating by the demiGod himself Dave Meltzer. In fact, This was the 3rd ever 5 star match with the first being Dynamite Kid Vs Tigermask. In a classic All Japan tag team match up we have Frank “Bruiser Brody” Goodish and Stan Handen Vs Terry Funk and his brother (and one of my wrestling trainers ) Dory Funk JR. I’m no wrestling historian, but I believe that the funk brothers are the only brothers who were world champions. Enjoy this 5 star classic.

“Stunning” Steve Austin Vs Ricky Steamboat WCW

“Stunning” Steve Austin Vs Ricky Steamboat WCW Saturday Night August 1st, 1992.
This match considered by many to be On Austin’s top 50 matches and his top ten when it comes to his WCW run. This is not not my opinion, as I have never made such a list.In this match, Austin is managed by Paul E. Dangerously, now known as WWE’s Paul Heyman which is his shoot name. “Stunning” Steve Austin at this time was the WCW Television champion as Steamboat was the number 1 contender. This feud would be revisited in 1994 right before Austin left the WCW due to an Injury. Leave us a comment and let us here at betwrestling.com what you think of this match and the style and pace and how you feel it differentiates from his WWF run. This Video was broken into two parts and if we can not find the 2nd video, we will have it available on this page or we will create the part 2 page.- BR3

Bret “Hitman” Hart vs Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat

[youtube url=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igTphYDReFc” width=”500″ height=”300″]

Today’s Video of the week is one of my early childhood favorites in while I wasn’t “Smart” to the business, I knew a good match when I saw one. My opinion wasn’t pursuaded by the announcers or the Apter mags, but simply a gut instinct. This match was viewed by me via the local video store at the rental price of 99 cent. I believe it was called “The Hart Foundation’ which was a compilation tape which was commonplace at the time. I believe ‘Titan Sports’ released about 9 Hulk Hogan tapes much to many west-coast observers chagrin. Anyhow Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart has been very public in a positive light about his love for today’s ‘Video of the day’. Every wrestler has an ego, you almost have to one to thrive in this tough industry, and while I’m a huge fan of this match, I believe that Bret wanted this match to be seen by his peers, insiders, and general fans alike because quite simply Ricky Steamboats’ match with Randy Savage was known as one of the best matches of all-time, and if you’ve followed Bret Hart closely, he often displays a “I can do what you can do, but I can do it better” psychology. In Bret’s mind not only does he believe he was better that Savage, but he def believes that this match is better than Savage’s match with Steamboat at ‘Mania. You be the judge. The Match can be viewed at the 18 minute mark of this video. Enjoy it..We all know that Bret has. –BR

Vader Meets Will Ospreay

[youtube url=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tO7u0YjDmS8″ width=”500″ height=”300″]

My video of the day today is pretty incredible if I say so myself. Following Will Ospreay’s match against Richochet in Japan this past spring, he was met with comment after comment from Wrestlers an wrestling personalties from yesteryear. Ranging from Jim Cornette to Vince Russo, everybody seemed to have an opinion about the cutting edge pace and moves that both men endured. Ospreay however seemed to be the guy that everybody was talking about and the biggest of them all was none other than Vader. See the incredible ring entrances and crowd reaction when both men shared the ring for the very 1st time.

Rare footage – Only clean pin on Ultimate Warrior

This rare gem is a 30 second clip of a match between Ultimate Warrior Vs Andre The Giant. I don’t know if Ultimate Warrior had to take a shit and take it home early or what, but this is the only clean pinfall that Warrior ever lost. The match took place in Cesena,Italy in April 1988. -BR3
