WWE Extreme Rules – Two Championship Matches Flip Via Sportsbook Betting Odds

These odds are courtesy of 5Dimes, a sports book accepting customers worldwide.

Extreme Rules betting odds are still very close in most matches. The added Pre-show match now has attributed odds as well and those see Sanity favored at -260 to defeat The New Day. While both the Intercontinental Championship and Smackdown Tag Team Championship Matches have seen the odds flip, the odds are still close in either case. Dolph Ziggler, formerly with marginal odds as a favorite is now a slight underdog defending the IC title against Seth Rollins in a 30 minute Iron Man Match. Team Hell No have also flipped as underdogs to favorites in their challenge to the Smackdown Tag Champs, The Bludgeon Brothers.

AJ Styles has seen his odds rise to -850 after already being the best odds compared to all other performers on the card. Rusev is an unlikely challenger to Styles’ WWE Championship based on his recent placement on WWE events. This is reminiscent of Jinder Mahal’s sudden rise to WWE Championship contendership last year, which saw him defy sportsbook odds throughout his championship reign.

Shinsuke Nakamura’s odds as a favorite to defeat United States Champion Jeff Hardy has risen significantly to -350. Asuka, while still favorite to defeat Smackdown Women’s Champion Carmella, has seen those odds shorten to make the already close odds tighten up further. For the Raw Women’s Championship, Nia Jax is still the underdog challenger but those odds have moved closer in probability for Jax to defeat Champion Alexa Bliss. This means since the odds were introduced, the bettors have been backing Nia more then Bliss.

The rest of the odds for the PPV haven’t moved much and are listed below. These always have the possibility to change again up to bell time when the lines close and this can be followed in real time via the sportsbook.

Early Betting Odds for WWE Extreme Rules Offering Close Odds on Most Matches

These odds are courtesy of 5Dimes, a sports book accepting customers worldwide.

With the exception of a few matches, early odds for most bouts at WWE Extreme Rules this Sunday are very close. These lines have plenty of room to move and early bettors will be taking advantage of this before the weekend wager rush that occurs with WWE PPVs. Since mid-2017, “smart money” odds stopped coming in and the general predictability of a match became the driving force behind line moves. There have been more upsets in the last six months than any other period.

Currently, the most lopsided odds are with AJ Styles retaining the WWE Championship against first time challenger Rusev. Styles is -415 as the favorite to win. The Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss also has impressive odds of -365 to successfully retain against Nia Jax in an Extreme Rules match.

In a Steel cage match, Braun Strowman is favored at -245 to defeat Kevin Owens and these odds seem like they should be more in favor of Braun. The rest of the card is very close in terms of odds. Finn Balor, Roman Reigns, Asuka, Team Hell No, Shinsuke Nakamura, Deleter of Worlds and Dolph Ziggler are all marginal favorites. It can be expected that these lines will move by the weekend.

WWE Championship

AJ Styles(c) -415 vs Rusev +295

Raw Women’s Championship (Extreme Rules Match)

Alexa Bliss(c) -365 vs Nia Jax +255

Smackdown Women’s Championship

Carmella(c) +120 vs Asuka -160

Intercontinental Championship (30-Minute Iron Man Match)

Dolph Ziggler(c) -190 vs Seth Rollins +150

United States Championship

Jeff Hardy(c) +120 vs Shinsuke Nakamura -160

Raw Tag Team Championship

Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt(c) -150 vs The B-Team +110

Smackdown Tag Team Championship

The Bludgeon Brothers(c) +105 vs Team Hell No -145

Steel Cage Match

Braun Strowman -245 vs Kevin Owens +175

Roman Reigns -155 vs Bobby Lashley +115

Finn Balor -140 vs Baron Corbin +100

WWE Extreme Rules Results

Pre show:

Kalisto vs Apollo Crews w/ Titus O’neil – I really enjoyed this match. Lots of high flying lucha action from Kalisto, and lots of power moves by Crews. These two guys work well off each others very different wrestling styles. This match has lots of action, and ends after Titus O’neil accidentally distracts Crews with advice and Kalisto hits the Salida Del Sol for the win.

Main Card:

Intercontinental Championship Match: If Ambrose gets DQ’d he loses the Title – The Miz vs Dean Abrose(c) – Basically this match is gonna be an attempted screw job. Maryse is in wrestling gear at ringside. So that says something. Miz tries to get Ambrose caught with the chair, is inciting him to beat and choke him.  A bit of wrestling happens… go figure… I’m imagining a “This is Boring” chant in my head. I’m way less interested in this match then I thought I’d be. I am also writing this from my cell so excuse any mistakes. Ok match has gotten a bit better since Ambrose dropped a elbow off the top. Still way less interesting than I’d expect from these guys. Abrose hurts his leg, Miz takes advantage. Gets dean in a figure 4. Ambrose gets the ropes but os pretty beat after, but still has more. During the fray Miz pulls a turnbuckle cover off. Ambrose doesnt fall gor it. More back and forth. Ambrose geta Miz in the figure 4. Miz gets the ropes. Maryse slaps Miz and official sends Maryse to the locker room. Miz slams Ambrose into the ref, official was still distracted by Maryse. Miz hits Skullcrusher thing for the win. Your new Intercontinental Champion: The Miz.

Backstage Interview with Bayley talking about watching some Kendo stick matches, and saw Wonder Woman and shes ready to get the Womens Championship Back.

Noam Dar and Alicia Fox vs Rich Swann and Sasha Banks: The guys start put but then the girls tag in and get a good chunk of time in the start of match but dont do much?? Guys tag back in, beat each other up. Alicia Fox tries to get involved,  anf Banks attacks her tossing her out of the ring. Everyones out, Banks goes to the top to get Fox Dar tries to move Fox and gets tackled by Banks instead. Swann drags him back to the ring to give him another move from the top for good measure, Swann pins Dar for the win. Swann and Banks dance in the ring.

Elias Sampson is in the ring, with a guitar and a keffiteh asking who wants tp rock with him… people don’t seem to want to rock with him. He sings about how gross Balitmore is gross to the tune of hotel California or something. Its really weird. Thanks Elias.  Booker T thinks he’s good, now im totally sold.

RAW Women’s Championship: Kendo Stick on a Pole Match – Bayley vs Alexa Bliss(c) – Bliss taunts Bayley right from the start. Alexa is first to go for the Kendo stick but Bayley gets the stick but drops it and both woman fall outside. Bayley blocks Alrxa from the stick then gives her a suplex on the groubd outside. Bayley has the kendo stick,  Alexa ran away, Bayley took too much time and Alexa kicks the kendo stick outta her hands and then beats Bayley with it. BAayley does a Belly to Bayley on Alexa, more bavk and forth, Alexa gets the stick again beats Bayley, and Alexa retains her title. Lesson: don’t hesitate when ypu have a kendo stick.

RAW Tag Team Championship Match: Steel Cage Match, both members must escape the cage – Cesaro and Sheamus vs The Hardy Boyz (c) – Cersaro and Sheamus have some sweet black kilts and matching jackets. The cage is open at the top so its pretty ridiculous. No nm pinfalls or submissions just both members have to escape. The Hardys are gicing a beating to Sheamus and Cesaro, who clearly have less cahe match experience.  Hardys try to escape, but thier opponents pull them back in. Matt Hardy gets to the top of the cage, Cesaro goes after him and hands him off to Sheamus for a standing senton. Cesaro and Sheamus are now in control, beating up the Hardys for thier chance at escape. Jeff fights back, climbs the cage, Sheamus pulls him down. More back and forth, all men are down. Hardys climb first but Sheamus and Cesaro follow, all men at the top of the cage. Jeff makes it out, its now 2 on one, but Matt takes both men down momentarily. Matt scales the cage, Ceasaro and Sheamus are dragging him back into the ring and he gets a double Razors Edge. Jeff Hardy is trying to get back in, but Cesaro slams the cage door on his face. Sheamus tries the door but Matt gets him in a Twist of Fate. Matt then pulls Ceasaro down, but Cesaro gets up and pulls him down and C&S give Maty the White Noise. Jeff gets back in and does the Whisper in the Wind from the top of the cage. Race to the outside of the cage, Ceasaro and Sheamus for the win and the Tag Titles! Yaaaaaaay!

WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match: Submission Match – Austin Aries vs Neville (c) – This match is too much.. plus I rather watch than write… The match was awesome. Neville retains his title. 205Live matches are way better than RAW matches IMO.

Fatal 5 way for #1 contender for Universal Championship Match against Bork Lesner – Bray Wyatt vs Seth Rollins vs Samoa Joe vs Roman Reigns vs Finn Baylor – Joe and Rollings and Wyatt and Balor start off, leaving Reigns standing alone. This Match is way too much to follow to try to write about. Results when it happens… the match was nuts witb Joe and Wyatt teaming up like a wrecking crew. All sorts of chair shots and high spots and even a trip through the barricaide. Samoa Joe wins by Submission. That means we have to watch him wrestle Lesner. Sounds painful. To watch.

Overall I thought this PPV was meh. The last two matches were the best. My MOTN was Neville and Aries.

Next PPV is Money in the Bank followed by Great Balls of Fire.

Smart Money Odds Project Heavy Favorites for WWE Extreme Rules

The following odds are from 5Dimes and represent the Global Market. Currently Mastercard, American Express and Bitcoins are being accepted for deposits. The smart money is in for WWE Extreme Rules and once again Samoa Joe is favored at -900 to win the Fatal Five Way. Seth Rollins overtook Joe in the odds as the favorite but Samoa Joe has resettled as the odds on favorite. Rollins is still more likely to win compared to anyone except Joe however.

Dean Ambrose is projected to lose the Intercontinental Championship match with the “Lunatic Fringe” defending against The Miz who is favored at -4800. Alexa Bliss’ odds of retaining the Raw Womens’ Championship have widened significantly  to -2300. Cesaro and Sheamus are projected to win the Raw Tag Team Championships against Matt and Jeff Hardy in a Steel Cage Match with odds of -16000, making them the most favored competitors of the entire PPV.

Neville is also heavily favored to once again retain the Cruiserweight Championship against Austin Aries at -7500. The preshow match projects the team of Rich Swann and Sasha Banks at -6000.

A simple explanation of how these odds are interpreted is that the minus sign indicates the favorite and the plus sign is for the underdog. So it would take a $16000 bet on Sheamus and Cesaro to win only $100 as they are heavy favorites but a successful $100 on the Hardy Boys would win $4000 as they are huge underdogs according to the current odds.

Universal Championship #1 Contenders Match
Samoa Joe -900
Seth Rollins +500
Finn Balor +3500
Bray Wyatt +5000
Roman Reigns +7500
Cruiserweight Championship
Neville(c) -7500
Austin Aries +2500

Intercontinental Champion
The Miz -4800
Dean Ambrose(c) +1600

RAW Women’s Championship
Alexa Bliss -2300
Bayley +1100

RAW Tag Team Championship
The Hardys -16000
Cesaro and Sheamus +4000

Mixed Tag Team Match
Rich Swann & Sasha Banks -6000
Noam Dar & Alicia Fox +2000

Which WWE Extreme Rules Match Has The Best Odds of Getting the Highest Star Ratings From Dave Meltzer?

The following odds are from Grosvenor Casinos, a sports book that operates in the UK. They offer wagering to only a limited number of countries although it can be followed anywhere in the world. Worldwide wagering will be available by 5Dimes very soon and to be notified please join our e-mail list at the bottom of this article.

It seems bizarre that you can actually place bets on what at first glance is simply one man’s opinion on WWE matches, but this has become a reality in 2017. That man is Dave Meltzer, founder of the Wrestling Observer and the more highfalutin wrestling fans strongly value his opinion. Meltzer developed a “star rating” system of ranking pro wrestling matches around the world, similar to how Hollywood films are ranked. Typically, these ratings fall into the territory on 0-5 stars, although the when feeling mischievous, Dave has been known to give matches negative stars. At least once he even awarded an extra star, six stars total, to a recent NJPW match between Will Osprey and Ricochet. This is heavy praise, as Dave rarely will rank a match as being five stars. It takes a masterpiece in the ring to earn Meltzer’s willingness to be less stingy with the stars.

The Sunday’s Extreme Rules PPV has several options for prop bets. These are from a UK sports book, so only a limited number on countries can take advantage of these wagers, however anyone can follow these in real time and see how they panned out after Dave furnishes the star ratings to the public who wait in anticipation of them following the event.

The first prop bet offered is whether there will actually be a five star match awarded by Dave for any match. Because Dave doesn’t part with that many stars very often, the odds are strongly against this happening. The odds of a five star match is currently +1500, which is a probability of 6.25%. Not very good chances at all. If someone were to win a $100 bet here they would win $1500.

As for the individual matches, bets are being taken on what match would get the highest rating. The main event is actually the favorite here at -200, meaning it would take a $200 bet to win $100. This will be a Fatal Five Way for the right to face Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship. It will most likely be given the most time and historically Meltzer is more likely to give a high rating on longer matches. Also this match has Seth Rollins, Samoa Joe and Finn Balor, all respected performers to the highfalutin tastes of Dave his followers. Roman Reigns, who this aforementioned highfalutin crowd generally loathes, has in the past been able to achieve the highest ranked matches on PPVs when in the ring with respected wrestlers.

The next most likely match to get the most stars is Neville vs Austin Aries for the Cruiserweight Championship at +125. This is about right as the two have had some great matches together since Wrestlemania 33. The median pick would be the Tag Team championship Match with The Hardys defending against Cesaro and Sheamus and this match is at +350.

The IC Championship match between Dean Ambrose and The Miz is at +800 and could end up being exceptional. These two have had great matches on the Smackdown brand before they were both moved to RAW and the “title changes hands on a DQ” element could foster some epic storytelling.

The match least likely to get the most stars is the RAW Women’s Championship match at +1000. Alexa Bliss defends against Bayley in a “Kendo Stick on a Pole Match” so perhaps the gimmick of the match is why this is not expected to be a highly rated match.

The bet will be graded after the star ratings are posted by Meltzer in his newsletter the week after the Extreme Rules.

Early WWE Extreme Rules Odds for UK Markets

Paddy Power makes bets available only to The UK and Ireland. The odds can still be followed but anyone in the world. To be notified of when the odds are available worldwide please subscribe to our e-mail list at the bottom of this article.

The betting odds for this Sunday’s Extreme Rules PPV have been posted by Paddy Power, a sports book available in Ireland and The UK. A possible title change is projected at this point but the lines often change. This becomes more dramatic when odds are offered to the global market later in the week.

Since these lines have been introduced, Samoa Joe has been heavily backed by gamblers to the point that the option to even place wagers on his was suspended for a period of time. Joe is now back as an option at 4/7, a 64% chance of winning. These are only the current odds and once the global markets open up, major shifting becomes more possible. With the rest of the projections, the only champions expected to lose is Dean Ambrose. The Lunatic Fringe is being challenged for his Intercontinental Championship by the Miz, who is favored at 4/7, or 64%.

Surprisingly, Alexa Bliss is favored to retain the Raw Women’s Championship with odds of 6/15, or 65%. What makes this so shocking is the fact that her opponent, Bayley never got much heat in this feud, losing at Payback and the night after on Raw to Bliss. This was followed by a month of Bliss getting the better of Bayley on almost every occasion.

Neville is projected to once again defeat Ausitn Aries. The Cruiserweight Champion is favored at 4/9, or 69%. The Hardys are 8/11 favorites to win and this convert to a 58% probability against Sheamus and Cesaro.

Understanding how to make sense of reading this odds is very simple. If the number on the left of the fraction is greater than the number on the right, this indicates an underdog. The opposite is true for the favorite. The percentages for probability appear to not add up to 100% in these matches and the reason for this is that they are based on the odds being offered. This could be for a number of reasons including “the vig” which is a fee or commission the books takes to remain profitable or that they are willing to offer better odds to entice wagers on bets that they do not believe will be successful anyway.

Universal Championship #1 Contenders Match

Samoa Joe 4/7 (64%)
Seth Rollins 5/1 (17%)
Finn Balor 9/2 (18%)
Bray Wyatt 7/1 (12%)
Roman Reigns 10/1 (9%)

Cruiserweight Championship
Neville(c) 4/9 (69%)
Austin Aries 7/5 (42%)

Intercontinental Champion
The Miz 4/7 (64%)
Dean Ambrose(c) 5/4 (44%)

RAW Women’s Championship
Alexa Bliss 8/15 (65%)
Bayley 11/8 (42%)

RAW Tag Team Championship
The Hardys 8/11 (58%)
Cesaro and Sheamus evens (50%)

These odds are from Paddy Power, and can be found under sports novelty bets. Odds can and will change. For more info on how to place bets read: Betting Odds Explained

Extreme Rules Predictions!

This weekend we have another PPV coming up, this one is Monday Night RAW branded, “Extreme Rules”, so as always I will give you my predictions as to who will win!

Rich Swann & Sasha Banks vs. Noam Dar & Alicia Fox (Mixed Tag Team Match) – The only way Dar and Fox are going to win is if they cheat, I give it to Swann and Banks.

WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville vs. Austin Aries (Submission Match) – Austin Aries will win with his vegan super powers!

Raw Tag Team Champions The Hardy Boyz vs. Cesaro & Sheamus – Steel Cage Match – As much as I love the Hardy Boyz, watching them last night shows just how beat up they really are, and the steel cage is unforgiving. I give this to Cesaro & Shaeamus.

Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley (Kendo Stick on a Pole Match) – Bayley has worked harder to prove herself than half the women in WWE today. Alexa Bliss is a cheating little toad, and I hope she gets an ass beating with that Kendo stick. I give this to Bayley, just for her reach advantage alone.

Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose vs. The Miz (if Ambrose is disqualified, he will lose the Intercontinental Title) – Dean Ambrose needs to watch his back, as Maryse will go out of her way to try to help her hubby the Miz, gain the IC Title. I am going to have to go with The Miz, as I have a feeling he is going to go above and beyond to get Ambrose DQ’d.

Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins vs. Finn Bálor vs. Bray Wyatt vs. Samoa Joe – Extreme Rules Fatal 5-Way Universal Title No. 1 Contender’s Match – This match is going to be WILD! All of these men want a shot at Brock Lesner, who has not been seen since Wrestlemania, but who will get a shot at the Universal Championship? A few weeks back Bálor said it was his goal to get the title back. Will he be able to hold his own against these 4 opponents, who all also want this title shot for themselves? After watching Samoa Joe steal his win on RAW, who knows what may happen! I am going with Bálor, because I have have some faith in him to use his brains to come out victorious!
