Preshow:
The Hype Bros. vs The Colons – Mojo is too good to be in a tag team…  This match was a lot of fun to watch, Ryder gets the pin for The Hype Bros to take the win!

Main Card:
1st EVER Women’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match:
Charlotte Flair vs Becky Lynch vs Tamina vs Carmella w.James Ellsworth vs Natayla What no surprise 6th woman? Boo! Tamina clears the ring, they fight a bit, Nattie is first to try to get the briefcase but Charlotte takes her out. Charlotte tries to climb up but Carmella pulls her down, Carmella makes her way up as does Charlotte, they fight a bit at the top of the ladder, Tamina comes and shoves the ladder over. Nice. Nattie hits Tamina with a ladder, Tamina already looked beat up. Becky and Nattie are fighting, broken up by both Carmella and Charlotte…. Its back to just Nattie and Becky, Becky kicks Nattie out and climbs the ladder to be pulled down by Carmella. I have to say, I am enjoying Carmella’s outfit today. Its very appropriate. Carmella gets taken out by Charlotte, who looks meaner today than she has since she came from RAW, Charlotte climbs ladder, Tamina climbs behind her and both take a huge bump to the floor from 3/4 the way up. Charlotte spears Tamina out of the ring, all the women are on the outside. Charlotte does a moonsault off the top turnbuckle onto Tamina and Nattie on the outside, so now they are all down… that was stupid. What good is taking yourself out? Carmella climbs the ladder, but Becky pulls her down and powerbombs her, Becky climbes the ladder, and Ellsworth tips her over and tries to revive Carmella. Ellsworth says fuck it and HE CLIMBS THE LADDER AND TAKES THE CASE!!! Refs are arguing at ringside… James Ellsworth grabs the mic declares Carmella the Winner and gives her the briefcase. Talk about the ultimate screw job!

Daniel Bryan is returning on Tuesday for SmackDown Live and has something to say about this!

Backstage interview with Lana… she is pretty confident she is walking away with the title tonight.

WWE Tag Team Championship Match:
The New Day vs The Uso’s(c) -The New Day cut a bizarre promo, and are also very confident they will walk away victorious tonight. The Uso’s look like they are ready to beat the snot out of The New Day… then they cut to introduce all the announce teams. Seriously? The match starts with Kofi Kingston and Jimmy Uso. They go back and forth, Jay gets tagged in, then Kofi managers to tag Big E in. There is so much going on, as usual its hard to cover it shot for shot, Kofi takes and ugly bump to the outside, when he gets up Jimmy clotheslines him so hard his head almost came off. The Uso’s are tearing poor Kofi apart. Kofi hasn’t been able to tag out for a while, and the Uso’s are taking full advantage of the situation. Jay Uso’s talking mad shit between beating on Kofi. Jay lets Kofi recover a little too long, and gets  sick dropkick, Big E back in, so is Jimmy and Big E gets two huge Belly to bell suplexes on Jimmy, but Jimmy cuts him off. Big E recovers, and there is more back and forth, Big E tags Kofi in and they double team Jimmy Uso. Kofi is back in, and fired up, but the Uso’s cut him off quickly, and Jay gets him in a submission in the middle of the ring. Jimmy tries to take out Big E outside, but gets suplexed on the floor. Kofi hits the SOS on Jay Uso, both men are down. There is a hot tag, and Big E is the legal man, but Jimmy doesn’t realize it, and almost gets put through the floor of the ring. Jimmy breaks up the pin, Xavier distracts him with the trombone, more stuff happens, TND his The Midnight Hour on Jay USO, but jimmy pills him out. The Uso’s stay out of the ring, and lose by count out, so The New Day won the match, but The Uso’s retain their titles.

SmackDown Women’s Championship Match:
Lana vs Naomi(c) : This match starts off hot, both women have a ferocity you don’t often see. Lana screams waaaaaay too much. Lana is way more aggressive than you would expect, she is really taking it to Naomi. Watching the match makes it apparent that she is still very limited in her skill set, but has really leaned to take advantage of what she does know. Lana gets the first cover, Naomi kicks out at 2, Lana has been targeting the champions left knee, and her strategy seems to be paying off. Naomi works her way out of Lana’s control. She regains a little bit and gives Lana 3 big kicks to the head, and then his Lana with The Rear View. But Naomi doesn’t get the pin, Lana gets back in control, and gives her a sit out spine buster… before the match is even over, Carmella has come to the ring, with her MITB Briefcase, Ellsworth, and a referee, is she here to cash in or just to mock Lana? Naomi managers to get back in control and wins by submission… What is Carmella going to do??? She decided to wait for another time.

Maria Kanellis and Mike Kanellis (really) come out, she says the first lady of WWE is back, shes been searching for 7 years for the perfect partner… Its Mike, they pan on educating everyone on SmackDown Live about the Power Of Love. I wonder how Bruce Prichard Feels about this.

WWE Championship Match:
Randy Orton vs Jinder Mahal(c) – Actually enjoying this match, and got distracted by someone interested in what I was watching. Mahal has dominated a lot of this match so far, but as we all know a viper waits to strike! Orton does indeed strike, Dumping Mahal into the legends including his Dad in the front row, then he gets dumped on the announce table himself. The men go back and forth a bit more, Orton tosses Mahal, but Mahal powders out, Orton follows him and gets capped in the knee on the barricade. OW. Mahal drags him to the ring for a 2 count. This knee submission was already used in the tag match. GAH I hate that. Jinder Mahal is a giant copycat. Too distracted to give a play by play, this match has been fun to watch. Orton superplex’s Mahal off the top rope, and gets a 2 count. Orton gets the RKO but the Singh brothers put Mahal’s foot on the rope. They get thrown out from ringside, but this is a major distraction for the official. Mahal has rolled out of the ring, Orton lays there catching his breath, the Singh brothers stay at ring side anyway and start shit talking the legends, grabbing Cowboy Bob Orton, and Randy comes to his dads rescue… Orton then destroys the Singh’s who aren’t even heavy enough to go through an announce table… ha. But where is Mahal? Orton puts one of the Singh’s through a table with a RKO, Jinder Mahal then drags him in the ring, and gets the win, retaining the title. BOO.

Breezango: The Fashion Police vs The Ascension – This is a solid tag tam match, Totally enjoyed watching it. Fandango gets the roll up for the win. Congratz to the Ascension on the PPV, you guys are going places.

2017 Men’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match:
AJ Styles vs Dolph Ziggler vs Sami Zayn vs Kevin Owens vs Shinsuke Nakamura vs Baron Corbin – Baron Corbin starts it off by attacking Nakamura from behind during the strobe light part of his entrance. Nakamura is knocked out at on the entrance way… Match starts anyway. I will try to give you highlights, there is no way I can follow this mayhem. Pretty much everyone is getting the shit kicked out of them. AJ looked to be the first to try to get the ladder up, but Owens came up and kicked him in the face. Owns tries to set the ladder up, Zayn cuts him off… Owens gets away climbs the turnbuckle and Zayn pulls him off and throws him on the ladder. Ouch. Wonder if Nakamura is ok… Ladder is now broke, new ladder in the ring, but Ziggler comes in to take out Zayn. More back and forth… now we got Styles, and Corbin in the ring, Corbin is down, AJ is setting up the ladder, get up, and Corbin climbs up as well. They fight at the top Ziggler pulls Corbin down, climbs over him, and knocks Styles down, and then Corbin yanks Ziggler down, starts to climb but Ziggler his him with the Zigzag.. (Corbin may be dead) Styles Ziggler, and Zayn on a ladder…. all fighting, Styles falls off, Ziggler and Zayn fighting at the top. Zayn gives Ziggler the sunset flip power bomb off the top. OUCH. Owens is back, pulls Zayn out, they go back and forth a bit, Zayn just did some sick shit to Owens, and I am pretty sure he’s dead too. There is carnage ad bodies everywhere. Zayn climbs the ladder, and Styles launches himself from who knows where, off the top rope, and knocks Zayn and the ladder down. Corbin is back up and yanks Styles up, and smashes him into the announce table a few times. Corbin sets a ladder up off the stairs and the desk, but takes too long and styles fights back, Styles still gets choke-slammed into the ladder. This is a painful match. Corbin and Zayn are in the ring, Zayn takes him out, gets the ladder up climbs up and Ziggler and owns both try to pull him down. Owens succeeds. Owens now on ladder, Styles pulls him down. They go back and forth a bit. Styles gives Owens a suplex on the ladder on the stairs and everyone’s dead. Styles gets up and climbs the ladder, AJ Styles is hanging from the chain he takes a huge bump that looks really ugly after falling without the suitcase. Corbin takes Ziggler out, and starts to climb, and Nakamura is up! YEEEEEEAAAAH! Nakamura is pretty fresh in comparison, he just took a nap… He’s making work of Corbin, knocks him out of the ring, Ziggler runs in and Nakamura makes quick work of him, Same thing with Zayn, then Owens when he tries to hold the ladder, Nakamura sets up the ladder, everyone else seems dead… He makes the Ascent, and Styles joins him…. crowd is freaking out… they move the ladder aside, then go blow for blow. its back and forth a bit, Nakamura gets The Exploder on Styles, but when Nakamura goes back for more, Styles cuts him off. Crowd is chanting “This is Awesome” It actually is. Styles is climbing as is Nakamura, they fight at the top, There’s 15 minutes left in this PPV??? Corbin comes and takes them both out, by knocking them off the ladder, and he easily climbs the ladder and gets the briefcase. Baron Corbin is this years Money In the Bank Winner!

Yet another great SmackDown branded PPV. Overall I really enjoyed the PPV, as you can see in comparison to my other reviews. The last RAW PPV was boring as fuck, and seriously creative on that brand needs to step up their game! (Don’t blame the talent!)

YouTube Flags Pro Wrestling as “Offensive Content”!

Recently there has been an uproar over wrestling accounts on YouTube being suspended, banned and deleted. A promoter and long time fan has taken the time to put up a [clink id=”76″ target=”_blank”]Change.org Petition, to ask YouTube to reverse these policies[/clink]. Here is the info from their petition:

THE SETUP

On March 2017, YouTube underwent changes to its algorithm. You know, the piece of code that decides how content is organized, which videos appear on searches first and – most importantly here – what content is fit for advertisers.

This came on the heels of a potentially big advertisers’ boycott of YouTube, as many learned their ads were running in videos that contained and featured several forms of hate speech, among other inappropriate content.

For the record, there’s nothing wrong with that. Hate speech deserves nothing but 100 times the reception John Cena got at the Hammerstein Ballroom at One Night Stand.

THE PROBLEM

YouTube’s algorithm (which is still being worked on) seems to broadly consider pro wrestling inappropriate content.

While I don’t particularly enjoy watching Stephanie McMahon slap and emasculate wrestlers, I wouldn’t call it inappropriate content. And I certainly wouldn’t put it on the same level as racially or politically-motivated hate speech.

If pro wrestling were that inappropriate, it wouldn’t run on platforms like the USA Network.

The changes made by YouTube are, I believe, exaggerated.

THE CONSEQUENCES

The pro: YouTube avoids an advertiser exodus.

The con: YouTubers, Internet businesses and even big companies that work on topics like video gaming, social issues and our near and dear pro wrestling, are losing the revenue previously channeled to them by YouTube’s advertisers.

Why? Because the advertisers don’t want their ad money on “inappropriate content”.

Several wrestling promotions have openly stated this course of action by YouTube had a very real impact on their ability to do business.

At the top of the list, is WhatCulture and its WCPW brand, which made clear it was cancelling its WCPW Loaded tapings – which are broadcast via YouTube – and attributed the cancellation to YouTube’s changes.

The changes not only make it virtually impossible for them to receive money from ads on their videos, but also make it harder for them to be found by users – YouTube has also launched a “Restricted Mode” feature, designed to “protect” users from inappropriate content.

According to Cageside Seats, other indy companies, like AIW and Beyond Wrestling, have also pointed out problems and difficulties arising from these changes.

THE BOTTOM LINE

While I certainly wouldn’t want my own money for video ads to be used in the middle of videos promoting racism, I fail to see how an ad before/during a bad ass promo segment or a potential match-of-the-year performance doesn’t provide a viable and engaging platform for advertising.

(See amount of commercials that run during WWE Raw on the USA Network.)

WCPW recently uploaded a totally free Rey Mysterio/Alberto El Patron match, which drew over 1 million viewers. But only $43 in ad revenue.

For the entertainment level they are providing, WhatCulture Pro Wrestling and many other hard-working promotions deserve a return becoming of the content they put out – and the views it has the ability to generate.

MY WISH AND MY PETITION

I think it’s only a matter of time until YouTube realizes pro wrestling is NOT inappropriate content. Their changes are, after all, a work in progress.

But why wait? Why wait when wrestling promotions are feeling the crunch RIGHT NOW?

Why don’t we just take the question to YouTube. RIGHT NOW.

[clink id=”76″ target=”_blank”]

SIGN MY PETITION

And let’s get wrestling promotions some money for their hard-earned work inside and outside the ring.

Thank you.

Early WWE Extreme Rules Odds for UK Markets

Paddy Power makes bets available only to The UK and Ireland. The odds can still be followed but anyone in the world. To be notified of when the odds are available worldwide please subscribe to our e-mail list at the bottom of this article.

The betting odds for this Sunday’s Extreme Rules PPV have been posted by Paddy Power, a sports book available in Ireland and The UK. A possible title change is projected at this point but the lines often change. This becomes more dramatic when odds are offered to the global market later in the week.

Since these lines have been introduced, Samoa Joe has been heavily backed by gamblers to the point that the option to even place wagers on his was suspended for a period of time. Joe is now back as an option at 4/7, a 64% chance of winning. These are only the current odds and once the global markets open up, major shifting becomes more possible. With the rest of the projections, the only champions expected to lose is Dean Ambrose. The Lunatic Fringe is being challenged for his Intercontinental Championship by the Miz, who is favored at 4/7, or 64%.

Surprisingly, Alexa Bliss is favored to retain the Raw Women’s Championship with odds of 6/15, or 65%. What makes this so shocking is the fact that her opponent, Bayley never got much heat in this feud, losing at Payback and the night after on Raw to Bliss. This was followed by a month of Bliss getting the better of Bayley on almost every occasion.

Neville is projected to once again defeat Ausitn Aries. The Cruiserweight Champion is favored at 4/9, or 69%. The Hardys are 8/11 favorites to win and this convert to a 58% probability against Sheamus and Cesaro.

Understanding how to make sense of reading this odds is very simple. If the number on the left of the fraction is greater than the number on the right, this indicates an underdog. The opposite is true for the favorite. The percentages for probability appear to not add up to 100% in these matches and the reason for this is that they are based on the odds being offered. This could be for a number of reasons including “the vig” which is a fee or commission the books takes to remain profitable or that they are willing to offer better odds to entice wagers on bets that they do not believe will be successful anyway.

Universal Championship #1 Contenders Match

Samoa Joe 4/7 (64%)
Seth Rollins 5/1 (17%)
Finn Balor 9/2 (18%)
Bray Wyatt 7/1 (12%)
Roman Reigns 10/1 (9%)

Cruiserweight Championship
Neville(c) 4/9 (69%)
Austin Aries 7/5 (42%)

Intercontinental Champion
The Miz 4/7 (64%)
Dean Ambrose(c) 5/4 (44%)

RAW Women’s Championship
Alexa Bliss 8/15 (65%)
Bayley 11/8 (42%)

RAW Tag Team Championship
The Hardys 8/11 (58%)
Cesaro and Sheamus evens (50%)

WWE BackLash Results 2017

Preshow
Tye Dillinger  vs Aiden English – Winner Tye Dillinger

Erick Rowan came out in his sheep mask, took it off, put it back on… much to the confusion of the pre show hosts…

Main Card
[clink id=”33″ target=”_blank”]Dolph Ziggler[/clink] vs Shinsuke Nakamura
Ziggler hits the ring first… no one cares, this crowd is super pumped for Nakamura (poor Ziggler). Nakamura comes to the ring, and the crowd is super pumped. They start out with some chain wrestling, but Nakamura tries to overpower and outsmart Ziggler rather than just wrestle him. Ziggler takes control with a submission but also bends the hand of Nakamura. Nakamura reverses and works Zigglers arm. This is a very back and forth match, with both men looking strong. Ziggler gets a hell of a dropkick in on Nakamura, followed by a big elbow drop. Ziggler takes too much time and Nakamura cuts him off with a knee to the guy then a leg to the head. There is more back and forth, too much too fast to write. Ziggler catches Nakamura in a HUGE DDT, taking Nakamura down again. Both men get up Zigger gets cut off again, but almost gets Nakamura on a roll up, then again on another two count. Nakamura looks hurt. Both men are down, but Ziggler gets back up first, and goes for a superkick, but Nakamura dodges but Ziggler catches him in the ZigZag, and Nakamura kicks out. HOLY SHIT. This match is a fire first match. There is so much back and forth its impossible for me to keep up. After a few more minutes Skinsuke Nakamura takes the win by pinfall after hitting the Kinshasa.

Ridiculous “Fashion Files” promo from Breezango…

SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match
Breezango vs The Uso’s(c)
Tyler Breeze is still wearing his ridiculous janitor costume from his promo. He even mops the ring when he gets tagged in and trips up one of the Uso’s with the mop. Its a loaded mop to the face of Jimmy Uso! The mop gets broken and thrown out by Jay Uso. Jay goes to the top but Breeze rolls out. Breeze is literally just rolling back and forth across the ring. When Jay goes back for him, he kicks him in the head. Fandango gets tagged in, and Jay takes over, drags him over to tag Jimmy in. Fandango takes control and gets a 2 count on Jimmy. Breeze is now in a new costume dressed as an old lady… hahahahaha The crowd chants “Lets go grandma” Well Grandma throws a hell of a dropkick. This is totally my kinda wrestling. Breeze channels Mae Young and gives Jay a face ride… Jay tags Jimmy back in, Jimmy pulls Breeze outta his ridiculous costume and throws it at JBL. This match is a riot. Fandango almost gets a pin on Jay Uso but he kicks out. Jay tags Jimmy back in and he stops Breeze in his tracks but can’t keep him down for the pin. This match is extremely entertaining. The Uso’s chuck Breeze into the crows, but Fandango takes them out from the outside. They get back in the ring, and cut off Fandango, Jay pins Fandango for the win… Wait was he even the legal man??? The last minute of that match was a bit of a clusterfuck.

Sami Zayn vs Baron Corbin
Corbin comes out strong. Zayn is holding his own pretty well against the big man, but will his flippy style make up for the aggressiveness of Corbin? Zayn gets a good back flip take down off the barricade on Corbin, then get back to the ring and have a bit of back and forth but Corbin drives Zayn hard into the corner and then proceeds to stomp him out then give him a big back breaker. Corbin keeps control throws Zayn off a turnbuckle, Zayn is hurting with little time to recover. He tries to fight his way up but Corbin grabs him in a bear hug. Corbin at 6’8 makes Zayn look little. Zayn elbows his way out of the hold, but gets caught back up in another bear hug. Zayn gets out, but Corbin throws him into the ropes for a backdrop, but Zayn kicks him in the head, and dodges out of the way, Corbin dives to nothing outside, missing Zayn. Zayn goes to the top but before he can jump, Corbin is back in the ring and cuts him off. Corbin is a monster. Hes yelling at Zayn to stay down. Every time Zayn tries to get up, he hits him, and yells at him again. Corbin goes for another strike but Zayn cuts him off, and gets control for 3 seconds. Corbin cuts him off again, but Zayn gets up top and does a cross body on Corbin for the 2 count. Corbin moves so fast for a guy his size, its incredible. Corbin is handing out a ton of abuse to Zayn. Corbin gives Zayn a massive choke-breaker, and gets a 2 count on the pin. Corbin takes Zayn up to the top turnbuckle for a suplex, but Zayn finds it in him to fight back. Zayn takes Corbin down in a sunset flip power bomb off the top! Another 2 count… Zayn goes for a DDT is cut off, Zayn goes for the Exploder but is cut off, Zayn then does a crucifix pin, 2 count. Corbin hits the Deep 6, 2 count… Corbin continues his assault on Zayn. This continues to go back and forth, Zayn kicks Corbin in the face, for the 3 count. Wow… that was pretty wild.

Jinder Mahal pulls up in a limo and calls Chicago a bunch of haters… He says tonight he will turn the doubters and discriminators into believers, that his is the modern day Makaraja, then cuts a promo in Punjabi.

6 Woman Tag Match
James Ellsworth comes to the ring, he cuts a promo and says he is the Micheal Jordan of Sports Entertainment, the epitome of masculinity. Puts himself over a little more, then introduces Carmella. They are wearing ugly red gold and black matching outfits. Next to the ring is Tamina, shes looking ready to kick some ass. [clink id=”35″ target=”_blank”]Natalya[/clink] comes out in a dope ass outfit that is very Hart family. Their opponents, first to the ring is [clink id=”8″ target=”_blank”]Becky Lynch[/clink], wearing her hair in a faux hawk. Next out is [clink id=”21″ target=”_blank”]Charlotte Flair[/clink], (why do they trust her to to be their tag partner? ) and finally the current [clink id=”34″ target=”_blank”]Smackdown Womens Champion, Naomi[/clink]! My question is why haven’t they made her a glow in the dark belt dammit. The match starts with Tamina and Becky Lynch. Tamina aggressively attacks Becky, then tags in Natalya. Becky manages to get to her corner to tag in Charlotte. Nattie and Charlotte go back and forth a bit, Nattie tags Tamina back in, she assaults Charlotte, then tags in Carmella. Carmella shows good ability in fighting against Charlotte, but Charlotte uses her skills and reverses to tag in Naomi. Naomi takes Carmella out, but as she is really getting going Tamina attacks her from the corner. Carmella is a dirty fighter… She works Naomi over a bit, then tags Tamina back in. Tamina puts Naomi in a headlock but Naomi works out of it to be taken down by Tamina. Carmella gets tagged back in, then she tags Natalya in, and they try double teaming Naomi, but she dodges. Nattie and Naomi go back and forth, Nattie tags Tamina back in, as Naomi is about to tag Becky, Carmella pulls Becky off the apron. Nattie tagged back in Naomi seems to be getting worked over but then counters and tags in Becky. Becky takes on all three of the other women at once, then ends up in the ring with Nattie one on one. Becky gets a 2 count on Nattie. A bit more back and forth with Becky and Nattie with a lot of interference from Tamina. Nattie makes Becky Lynch Tap Out with the Sharpshooter.

United States Championship Match
[clink id=”30″ target=”_blank”]AJ Styles[/clink] vs [clink id=”17″ target=”_blank”]Kevin Owens(c)[/clink]
AJ comes out first to mass applause, his mom hair looking like he been chasing toddlers around the locker room. Owns comes to the ring, looking much like an angry toddler. The audience seems pretty stoked for this match (This is a ROH Smarks wet dream) The match starts off with a lot of back and forth, Styles tries to wear down Owens with headlocks and holds. Owens gives him some of his own medicine. The crowd is chanting for Styles… Owens smartly powders from the ring. Styles goes to follow him but Owen gets back in the ring. “Stupid Idiot” chant from the crowd at Owens. Styles goes for a dropkick but Owens cuts him off. Owens hit the ropes, but Styles hits him with the dropkick on the second go round. A bit of back and forth, Styles tries to take control but is cut off, then cuts off Owens, but its not enough and Owens comes back with a clothesline, to a pin, no count kick out. Owens takes control and knees Styles in the back, then gets him in a choke hold from behind. Styles is getting worn down with this choke but is fighting his way out. Owens cuts him off with a DDT then gives him a few senton’s for good measure, tries for the cover, but gets a 2 count. Owens goes back for the choke hold. Styles works his way up, but gets dropped on his back by his hair by Owens. Styles manages to get a quick kick to the head on Owens, but it doesn’t stun Owens for long. Styles finds opportunity and gets a cover and kick out on Owens. More back and forth, and Owens goes face first to the mat, 2 count for Styles. Styles gets another cover after that sick back breaker he does… Owens is slowly getting up but Styles goes for a suplex, but Owen reverses it with a backdrop. More back and forth and misses, and Owens gives Styles a gnarly neck breaker, for another 2 count. Both men are back to their feet, more back and forth, Owens gives Styles an neck breaker on the ropes. Owens goes to the top but Styles stops it, tries to pile drive him off the apron but Owens gets out… hey fight outside then both  men are back in the ring, Styles gets a cannonball from Owens. Owens working the leg of Styles and does another cannonball into his leg. He then puts Styles into a single leg boston crab. Styles drags him across the ring, Owens drags him back and puts him in an ankle lock. Styles gets to the bottom rope to break the hold. Owens takes AJ to the top rope, but Styles reverses into a top rope power bomb! Both men are struggling to their feet, Styles goes for the Phenomenal Forearm but falls, Owens gets a DDT on him for another 2 count. Owens gets to his feet, and gives Styles a few slaps to the face, but Styles counters with a Pele kick. Styles gets up and beats Owens down. AJ takes Owens to the top and Owens counters with a suplex from the top, for another 2 count… Crowd chants, This is AWESOME… I just woke an old guy up from his chicken nap at the coffee shop, cause I yelled. Styles manages to suplex Owens on the apron, OMG did that look painful. Styles breaks the 10 count, then goes for Owens, but Owens tosses him into the time keepers pit. Styles hits Owens with the Forearm, then tries to set Owens up on the table, but falls through the opening in the table and is hung up on wires, Owens gets back to the ring, and retains his championship by count out. BOOOOOOOOOOOOO What a shitty ending to a great match.

Luke Harper vs Erick Rowan
Rowan comes to the ring in a new mask. This one is a pigface gasmask combo. Harper comes out and the match starts right away. I am not sure how much to write, as it’s clear these two are just gonna beat the shit out of each other. Both of these are huge dominating guys. They also know each others moves as they are “family” or were in some sense of the word. Rowan is laying into Harper hard, but Harper isn’t backing down. Rowan gets a cover after a dropkick… that’s a huge dude to get that high off the ground! Its really not looking good for Harper at this point. He is going to have to think of Rowans weaknesses and use them to his advantage. Rowan gets another 2 count on Harper. Rowan goes to the top for a Splash but Harper rolls out of the way. Both men are on the outside, Harper is knocking some sense into Rowan then gets back into the ring, and jumps between the ropes, pinning Rowan between the announce table. Harper seems to be gaining some steam, gets a 2 count on Rowan. Harper gets another 2 count after a side slam, Harper then gets cut off and Rowan has control again, and power bombs him for a 2 count. Harper is down, Rowan is dragging his lifeless body about a bit. Harper was playing dead, gets a 2 count. Now both men are going shot for shot back and forth in the ring. Rowan tries to power bomb Harper but Harper reverses, and super kicks him in the face, HUGE clothesline, and Harper gets the 3 count. Considering I usually hate watching the big guys fight, this was one hell of a match up.

WWE Championship Match
Jinder Mahal vs Randy Orton(c)
Jinder Mahal is HUGE. It seems his neck is disappearing. Randy Orton comes out looking cool and calm in the face of a monster, but will his experience be enough to retain his title over Mahal? Usually Orton is one of the guys in the best shape in the company, but it looks like Jinder Mahal has surpassed him on that. Marriage must be making Orton soft… lol. Orton doesn’t even wait for the bell to ring, and jumps Mahal. Wow what a PPV! This was leagues above payback. Overall I thought the matches were great, and the only disappointment was the end of the US Championship match. This will probably be in my top 5 PPV’s of 2017.

We Almost Saw the Bully Ray Character in WWE But There’s an Interesting Reason Why it was Nixed

Bully Ray is on his own again as a singles wrestler since long-time tag team partner Devon Dudley is retired and working behind the scenes in WWE. But this is how Bully Ray prefers things and he revealed that his first WWE stint ended because he wanted to be a single wrestler. He almost got his wish on this recent stint because he was very close to splitting off and becoming Bully Ray in WWE.

In an interview with ESPN.com, he talked about how close WWE was to pulling the trigger on that character. He said;

“We were one day away from becoming Bully Ray in WWE.” He continued, “One of the problems with having Bully Ray in the WWE was the word bully. How could they have a guy named Bully when they had the ‘Be a STAR’ program? It was a little too risky for them.”

Although many WWE heels play bullies, the issue with the Bully Ray character is that the company felt that the entire character was centered around bullying people and that was too risky for Be a STAR.

He left WWE on good terms and eventually joined ROH. He said, “They were actually interested in bringing in both me and D-Von into Ring of Honor, which would’ve been insane. D-Von had made a life decision where he wanted to devote a little more time to his family and physically in the ring wanted to slow it down just a little bit. I still have gas in the tank. I think Ring of Honor was the perfect place for me to continue as Bully Ray.” He added that he had a huge offer to return to Impact Wrestling but he knew that it was not the right decision and he is in love the the passion of the ROH locker room and the fans.

He still has a lot left in the tank so it doesn’t look like retirement is in his immediate future but when the day comes then he could end up taking on a role behind-the-scenes. He added, “I have been asked in the past by the higher-ups in WWE if I’d be interested in being a producer, and when the time is right hopefully that position is still available.”

I’d say that things are going well for him and the move to ROH was a wise one. He hasn’t been with ROH for too long and he is already a 6-man Tag Team Champion alongside The Briscoe Brothers.
