Major Shift in Royal Rumble Frontrunner

The new year has arrived as we inch towards the Road to Wrestlemania and it all starts with the Royal Rumble in Philadelphia January 28 and live on the WWE Network. The main attraction of this event is the Royal Rumble match itself, a match with decades of history and decided who will go on to the main event of Wrestlemania for a shot a either the WWE Championship of the Universal Championship. Although the Rumble match is limited to 30 superstars, odds are available on over 100 possible entrants and these bets would be speculative at this point.

While odds have been available for most of 2017, those odds gave the best chance to Roman Reigns winning as it has been generally believed that Reigns challenging Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship would be the main event of Wrestlemania this is no longer the case. Roman has unfinished business with Lesnar since Wrestlemania 31, but the new favorite to win the Rumble is John Cena with odds of +225. Reigns is still a close second at +250.

Shinsuke Nakamura has very respectable odds of +275, only marginally behind Cena and Reigns, however AJ Styles is next on the list at +500. With AJ already being WWE Champion, he likely will not even be a participant in the Rumble match. For unknown reasons, Raw Tag Team Champion Seth Rollins is at +800, while his tag team partner Jason Jordan has far less favorable odds at +3300. Jordan replaced an injured Dean Ambrose in that tag team, and although he will likely miss the Royal Rumble, Ambrose still has odds of +2000. Bobby Roode and Braun Strowman have identical odds of +1000.

There are actually many possible entrants that aren’t even in the WWE currently. Goldberg has odds to win of +3300. With odds of +2500, NJPW US Champion Kenny Omega is another long shot but still has better odds than his WrestleKingdom opponent Chris Jericho. Y2J has odds of +3300. The Rock and Undertaker both have odds of +5000 and considering that Taker will be at the 25th Anniversary of RAW, this could be a worthy pick at those lines.

Even CM Punk, who walked out of WWE after the Royal Rumble 4 years ago, has odds of +6600 to return and win it. Shawn Michaels has odds of +8000, while Ryback and Bubba Ray Dudley have odds of +10000. With odds of +15000, both “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and Ronda Rousey can be wagered on as well. Rousey is the only woman of this list.

Hulk Hogan, Darren Young, Jerry Lawler, Kevin Nash and James Ellsworth all have odds of +20000.

Even some non-wrestlers have odds to win including Floyd Mayweather, Conor McGregor, Vin Diesel, Barck Obama and President Donald Trump.

WWE News Alert 1/1/18 – Elias Covers Hotline Bling, Championship Match Ends Due to Referee Stoppage, Rusev Day Shirt Sells Out

WWE News and Rumors for January 1, 2018

WWE held a live event on New Year’s Eve in Toronto, the hometown of musical artist Drake. The audience on hand was treated to an acoustic rendition of Drake’s hit “Hotline Bling” by none other than Elias, who continues to display his vast musical range. Although 2018 will be a a breakout year for Elias, the performance was followed by a chokeslam from Kane.

Also in Toronto, the main event for the Intercontinental Championship ended abruptly as the champion Roman Reigns busted his challenger Samoa Joe open above the eye before the referee stopped the match due to the laceration.

Braun Strowman was sent home from the WWE Holiday Tour due to illness an misses several events. Strowman shouldn’t miss much time and had been wrestling Kane on this tour.

Chris Jericho had been on Podcast One for the past four years with his podcast Talk is Jericho. In addition Jericho formed “The Jericho Network” within Podcast One that brought other shows to the platform including The Raven Effect, Keeping it 100 and Killing The Town. Jericho is leaving Podcast One and bringing his show and entire Jericho Network of shows to a new platform, Westwood One.

For the first time ever on Smackdown Live the week will feature AJ Styles vs Sami Zayn in what should be a PPV Quality match on free TV. This is, however, a non-title match, so the WWE Championship is not on the line.

Rusev Day is an absolute phenomenon! To close out 2017, the Happy Rusev Day shirts are completely sold out and expected to be back in stock any minute. Get yours at WWE Shop.

Final WWE Clash of Champions Betting Odds

These odds are courtesy of 5Dimes, and international sports book available to players worldwide. These odds can be followed in real time at 5Dimes. Registration is absolutely free and there is no obligation to place a wager upon joining. Bets can be made for as low as 50 cent and can be made up until when the bell rings for individual matches.

With WWE Clash of Champions just a few hours away, the current betting odds haven’t seen any flips of projected winners, nor do they suggest that there have been leaks of finishes. None of these odds have flipped in the other direction and new odds have been added for previously unrated matches. Watch with a free month of the WWE Network.

Baron Corbin is favored to retain the United States Championship at -385 and Bobby Roode has odds of +375 of winning that title. Because Dolph Ziggler is also in the match to make it a Triple Threat, he has long shot odds of +1035. It is speculated within many of the popular internet wrestling communities that Dolph was added to the match for the sole purpose of taking the pin and protecting both Corbin and Roode in the process.

In their PPV debut with this new gimmick “The Bludgeon Brothers”, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan are heavily favored at -2150 to defeat Breezango. While this may look like a smart money number, this is almost certainly a case of the Bludgeons being a very obvious winners. An upset would be further proof of the leaks of finishes being sealed up.

Another match with odds recently added is also very lopsided with Mojo Rawley favored at -1545 against his former tag team partner, Zack Ryder. This is also an obvious choice because Mojo recently turned heel by attacking his tag team partner. The idea here is build momentum for Rawley, who stood tall winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at Wrestlemania earlier this year.

AJ Styles’ odds have improved to -720 defending against Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship, while Charlotte Flair’s odds to retain the Smackdown Women’s Championship against Natalya have remained unchanged at -675.

The Usos odds have shortened to -140 to retain the Smackdown Tag Team Championship in a Fatal Fourway. The challengers now have odds of winning as well. Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable have the best odds of dethroning at +370 and in second place is The New Day at +410. Rusev and Aiden English are least likely to win with odds of +535.

Kevin Owen and Sami Zayn have seen their odds widen from -300 to -975 to defeat Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura. The stipulation is that Kevin and Sami are fired from the entire WWE if they lose.

Who is Favored to Win at WWE Clash of Champions this Sunday

The lines are now available WORLDWIDE through 5Dimes , a sports book that requires no credit card or obligation to actually place wagers upon registration. No credit card is required to register and these odds can be followed in real time at 5Dimes with absolutely zero obligation to place a wager.

While oddsmakers are crushing historical data to come up with odds for a few other matches, the major attractions to Sunday’s Clash of Champions PPV already have had the lines set. All champions are projected to retain, with the exception of the United States Championship Triple Threat match, which has not had odds set at this time.

WWE Champion AJ Styles is at -415 to retain against former champions Jinder Mahal, who a +295 underdog. Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair has even better odds of -675 to successfully defend against Natalya, who is a +425 underdog.

The Smackdown Tag Team Champions, The Usos, are -245 favorites to retain against a field of 3 teams. The bet would for any of those other teams to win at +175. This is a huge endorsement for the Usos, however individual odds will be set for The New Day, Benjamin & Gable as well as Rusev and Aiden English. When those odds are set, expect them to be wider longshots than choosing “the field” because it would be a more exact prediction.

The matches we are waiting for odds on include the aforementioned United States Triple Threat match with Baron Corbin defending against both Baron Corbin and Dolph Ziggler, Zack Ryder vs Mojo Rawley and Breezango vs The Bludgeon Brothers.

A quick explanation of how to intepret these odds, which are known as American/Moneyline odds is as follows. The minus sign indicated the favorite and the plus sign for the underdog. The corresponding number after the plus or minus indicate how favored or unfavored the performer(s) is/are. For example a $100 bet on Natalya at +425 would yield $425 upon success.

AJ Styles(c) -415 vs Jinder Mahal +295

WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship

Charlotte Flair(c) -675 vs Natalya +425

WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship

The Usos(c) -245 vs The Field(The New Day, Shelton Benjamin/Chad Gable and Rusev/Aiden English) +175

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn -300 vs Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura +220

Final WWE Survivor Series Betting Odds

The following odds have been sourced from 5Dimes, a sports book available to players worldwide. Registration is free and no credit card is required. There is no obligation to place a wager for those wishing to simply follow the odds.

Survivor Series on the WWE Network is looking to be another PPV event where the smart money is not going to emerge at the last minute. This has been the trend since Summerslam. Even though the projected winners still typically hold true, we haven’t seem odds flipping into the opposite direction leading up to the event.

The two matches that started with the longest odds initially have moved even further with Brock Lesnar favored at -1500 against AJ Styles and The Shield favored at -4500 against The New Day. These are the type of odds we typically see for the “smart money odds”, however when this happens it is for every match across the board. These particular heavy favorites are simply due to the results being presumably predictable.

At one point, the Men’s Survivor Series match had even odds, but this went back into the direction of Smackdown, currently sitting at -140. This is still too close to call however. The Women’s Survivor Series match has Team Raw favored at a more decisive -320.

In other matches Charlotte Flair is favored over Alexa Bliss,  The Usos are favored over Cesaro & Sheamus, The Miz are projected to beat Baron Corbin and for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship, Enzo Amore is favored to retain over Kalisto.

To read these odds is simple. The minus sign indicates the favorite and the plus sign for the underdog. The corresponding number after the plus or minus represents just how favored or unfavored the performer(s) happen to be.

5 on 5 Survivor Series Match(Men’s)
Team Smackdown -140 vs Team Raw +180

————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

The following odds are from Grosvenor Casinos and similar odds are also available at Paddy Power. Both of these sports books are available to a limited number of nations in Europe, however the global odds open worldwide will be available soon from 5Dimes.

Early betting odds for the absolutely loaded card of Survivor Series have been set in the European market, and while many of these are relatively close lines, there are two that immediately stick out as lopsided. The first of these would be be WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar being favored at -500 against AJ Styles who is at +300 currently. At face value, Lesnar should be favored, but in addition it would be difficult to believe Jinder Mahal will not get involved here. Mahal, whose long title reign was ended be Styles recently, has no announced involvement for Survivor Series and one would think that a performer being built up for most of 2017 would not make some sort of meaningful appearance.

Next, The Shield is also favored at -500 to defeat the New Day who are a +300 underdog. With The Shield recently reuniting and being one of the hottest acts in WWE, it is important for them to keep their momentum.

For the traditional Survivor Series matches, Team Smackdown is favored at -167 on the Men’s side, whereas for the Women Raw is favored at -295.

In a battle of the Women’s Champions, Charlotte Flair is slightly favored at -155 against Alexa Bliss at +110. This is tough to call. While Bliss is having a fantastic run currently, the recent 30 for 30 on ESPN for Ric Flair has renewed Charlotte Flair’s star power. It’s no coincidence that Ric appeared on Smackdown to celebrate his daughter’s Championship win and has also been announced to appear on Starrcade.

In other matches, IC Champion The Miz is slightly favored at -139 over Baron Corbin as an even bet at +100. The only title on the line for this event is the Cruiserweight Championship, which Enzo Amore is projected to retain at -225 against Kalisto.

jinder mahal vs aj styles smackdown

Who is Favored by Sports Books When Jinder Mahal Defends Against AJ Styles on Smackdown?

The following odds are sourced from 5Dimes, which offers betting to players worldwide. Click here to visit Five Dimes.

UPDATE – Since the odds went slightly in favor of AJ Styles, by the time word got out that there was a title change on RAW last night in Manchester AJ became heavily favored at -900 to Jinder Mahal’s +500. Cesaro and Sheamus becoming tag team champions on a pretaped event showed a willingness by the WWE to have title switch happen knowing spoilers would get out in advance, this could be the reason why the odds went so heavily in AJ’s favor. The long odds didn’t last however, as AJ’s odds decreased overnight. Jinder is now slightly favored at -160 to successfully defend the WWE Championship on Smackdown. There’s no indication that any of this is due to possible leaked finishes, but rather a run from gamblers backing Jinder and getting $5 for every $1 wagered on a possible victory. AJ Styles’ odds are currently +120, meaning a $100 bet upon success would win $120.

There are actually betting odds available for Tuesday’s Smackdown WWE Championship match between defending champion Jinder Mahal and challenger AJ Styles. This isn’t the first time odds makers took on a Smackdown match. This first happened over the Summer when John Cena and Shinsuke Nakamura faced off on television. Cena was favored early on, but Nakamura prevailed.

For Tuesday’s match the initial odds were and even bet, with both Mahal and Styles set at -120. The odds changed almost immediately and AJ is now a slight favorite at -155 to Jinder’s +115. As always, because this is a championship match, this doesn’t mean The Phenomenal One is favored to walk out of Smackdown as Champion due to the “champion’s advantage” of titles not changing hands due to a DQ or count out.

It’s also worth mentioning that The Maharajah has overcome long odds in the past during this championship reign. Another factor to consider is that Jinder is set to face Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series in a “champion vs champion” match. Styles winning the title could change that and some could argue that with AJ having more star power than Jinder, this would make for a more intriguing match and be more of a money draw. On the other hand, WWE is obviously firmly behind Mahal and a win over AJ would only elevate him further.

Once again, these odds are available at 5Dimes, where it’s free to register and no deposit or obligation to place wagers is required for those that simply want to follow the odds and see how they move. Players are accepted all over the world and bets can as low as 50 cents. This particular match is worth following because it could go in any direction. Usually odds close right as the match is starting, however this is being pretaped at the Manchester Arena in England, so these odds are likely to close before Smackdown airs.

How Did The Addition of Kurt Angle and AJ Styles Change WWE TLC Odds?

The following odds are sourced from 5Dimes, which offers betting to players worldwide. Click here to visit Five Dimes.

With illness striking the WWE roster leading to major changes in key matches for TLC on the WWE Network, sportsbooks have scrambled to get new odds out to reflect the shuffling. Kurt Angle replacing Roman Reigns in the 3 on 5 TLC match still has the 3 man team as the favorite, but less so than when Roman was in the match. Yesterday The Shield was favored at -530, but now the new team is only at -380. To put this in perspective, Asuka, who was favored at an impressive -1500 is now even more heavily favored at -2750.

Bray Wyatt has been replaced by AJ Styles against Finn Balor, and the change of opponent didn’t effect the odds very much. Before the change Finn was favored at -215 and this dropped marginally to -210. The only other shift worth noting is that the team of Cedric Alexander and Rich Swann are now favored in their match against Jack Gallagher and The Brian Kendrick. This match was very close to begin with and now both are listed as underdogs, which is not uncommon when the sportsbooks can’t call it, so right now it’s a “pick em’”.

3 on 5 TLC Match

Kurt Angle, Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose -380 vs The Miz, Cesaro, Sheamus, Braun Strowman, Kane +260

“The Demon”(Finn Balor) -210 vs AJ Styles +210

WWE Raw Women’s Championship

Alexa Bliss(c) -270 vs Mickie James +190

WWE TLC Betting Odds for Every Match; Will These Predictions Become Reality?

The following odds are sourced from 5Dimes, which offers betting to players worldwide. Click here to visit Five Dimes.

The betting odds for this Sunday’s TLC PPV have been set overnight and the most favored of all is currently Asuka. This would be “The Empress’” debut on the RAW brand and she will be facing Emma. Asuka being a -1500 favorite(meaning it would take a successful bet on $1500 to win only $100) is no surprise as this match is expected to be nothing more than a showcase match.

In the main event, even though the newly reunited Shield is outnumbered in a 3 on 5 TLC match, the odds are currently in their favor at -530. If this projection ends up being true, it will still be interesting to see how exactly The Shield will pull off this victory with such a stacked opposition.

Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss is favored to retain against challenger Mickie James at a respectable -270, while Enzo Amore is projected by the narrow margin of -160 to dethrone Kalisto and win back the Cruiserweight Championship.

The bizarre match-up of “The Demon” vs “Sister Abigail” sees Finn Balor favored at -215 against Bray Wyatt. Other odds for matches on the card see Sasha Banks favored at -350 over Alicia Fox and the team of Kendrick and Gallagher slightly favored at -145 over Cedric Alexander and Rich Swann.

As usual, these odds will change and possibly flip in the opposite direction altogether. As for “smart money odds”, which are based on wagers made by insiders “in the know” of the finishes, they may not emerge yet again. Time will tell, but if the finishes are leaked, this usually happens on the day of the event.

3 on 5 TLC Match

The Shield -530 vs The Miz, Cesaro, Sheamus, Braun Strowman, Kane +350
