WWE Summerslam 2018 – Game Day Betting Guide

These odds are courtesy of 5Dimes, a sports book accepting customers worldwide.

Taking a look at the game day betting odds for Summerslam and how they moved since the initial lines became available globally suggest that not only are internal leaks within the WWE non-existent, but that the eventual results are less predictable than ever. The current odds are closer than we are used to seeing. This should make for a more entertaining product overall and hopefully this will become the trend going forward.

Summer can be watched live on the WWE Network and a free trial is offered to new subscribers. For those unable to watch, Liz Savage will be typing up detailed results live as they happen.

The Universal Championship match is tough to call, and while Roman Reigns is favored to defeat Brock Lesnar, he is only favored at -160. Reigns had been more heavily favored at -300 at the start of the previous week so the lines have moves in Lesnar’s favor since then. In the previous three encounters between these two, Brock has overcome underdog odds in each instance. The Raw Women’s Championship tells a similar story with Ronda Rousey’s favorable odds of -420 being downgraded to -300 against the champion Alexa Bliss.

Two title matches on the Smackdown side are anomalies compared to the rest of the card with the champions seeing their odds increase significantly. WWE Champions AJ Styles was only favored at -160 and that has increased to -460 defending against Samoa Joe. United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura had been favored at -265 and has seen an upgrade to -530 in a title defense against Jeff Hardy. Nakamura has the best odds out of anyone competing at Summerslam.

The Smackdown Women’s Championship Triple Threat match has seen little movement in the betting odds. Both champion Carmella and challenger Becky Lynch have seen their odds slightly become more favorable at the expense of Charlotte Flair’s probability of winning. The Intercontinental Championship match has flipped altogether but is now closer. Champion Dolph Ziggler was formerly an underdog at +205 but is now the favorite at -125. The challenger Seth Rollins is listed at -115, so both have favorable odds which usually means the sports book cannot call it.

Looking at matches for both Raw and Smackdown Tag Team Championships, Smackdown Champs The Bludgeon Brothers have not seen any movement at all and have consistently been listed at -140 favorites. The challengers, The New Day remain at +100, an even bet. The Raw Champs, the B Team, are favored at -290 defending against The Revival. This is a newly listed match that were not part of the original set of odds. Another match added sees Andrade Cien Almas and Zelina Vega favored at -290 to be victorious over Rusev and Lana.

The Cruiserweight Championship saw both competitors with stalemate odds of -120, but the champion, Cedric Alexander, has emerged as a -155 favorite with challenger Drew Gulak a +115 underdog. Originally favored at -300 to retain the Money in the Bank briefcase, Braun Strowman has seen his odds become less favorable at -260. This means while still an underdog, Kevin Owens has better probability than initially.

Finn Balor’s odds have improved to overcome Baron Corbin and The Miz has become the definitive favorite to defeat Daniel Bryan in a match with the better part of a decade of build. All odds are subject to “end of broadcast” grading to account for a possible “Dusty Finish”. Initial result are available as well but do not differ match from the end of broadcast lines.

Early SummerSlam Odds and Predictions!

These odds are courtesy of 5Dimes, a sports book accepting customers worldwide.

The betting odds for Summerslam are out earlier than most PPVs and three champions have odds against successful title defenses. Roman Reigns had been in his three previous challenges to Brock Lesnar and this time is no different with Reigns being favored at -300. Roman ended up losing on each previous occasion so betting against him is tempting considering the trend.

The most favored on the card at -420 is Ronda Rousey in her challenge for the Raw Women’s Championship against Alexa Bliss. Another champion listed as an underdog is Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler. Dolph is being challenged by Seth Rollins with odds of -285 to regain the title.

The WWE Championship match has close odds at this point, with AJ Styles favored at only -160 to retain against Samoa Joe. Even closer odds see Smackdown Tag Team Champions, The Bludgeon Brothers favored at only -140 defending against The New Day. The +100 odds for New Day is an even bet, meaning a bettor would win whatever they bet.

In the Cruiserweight Championship match both champion Cedric Alexander and challenger Drew Gulak have odds of -120 and expect these to change somewhat by next week to project a winner. The United States Championship match on the other hand has set a definitive projection in a title retention for Shinsuke Nakamura with healthy odds of -265, the best odds of any current champion.

Because it’s a Triple Threat match, the Smackdown Women’s Championship allows the sports books to offer all three competitor as underdogs. The champion, Carmella, has the best odds at +115 against challengers Becky Lynch and Charlotte.

In non-title matches Finn Balor is favored at -170 to oust Constable Corbin, while The Miz has odds of -135 against Daniel Bryan. Worth noting is Bryan’s odds are -105, so both he and Miz are listed as underdogs currently, which is emblematic of the sports books not knowing how to call this one.

WWE Extreme Rules – Two Championship Matches Flip Via Sportsbook Betting Odds

These odds are courtesy of 5Dimes, a sports book accepting customers worldwide.

Extreme Rules betting odds are still very close in most matches. The added Pre-show match now has attributed odds as well and those see Sanity favored at -260 to defeat The New Day. While both the Intercontinental Championship and Smackdown Tag Team Championship Matches have seen the odds flip, the odds are still close in either case. Dolph Ziggler, formerly with marginal odds as a favorite is now a slight underdog defending the IC title against Seth Rollins in a 30 minute Iron Man Match. Team Hell No have also flipped as underdogs to favorites in their challenge to the Smackdown Tag Champs, The Bludgeon Brothers.

AJ Styles has seen his odds rise to -850 after already being the best odds compared to all other performers on the card. Rusev is an unlikely challenger to Styles’ WWE Championship based on his recent placement on WWE events. This is reminiscent of Jinder Mahal’s sudden rise to WWE Championship contendership last year, which saw him defy sportsbook odds throughout his championship reign.

Shinsuke Nakamura’s odds as a favorite to defeat United States Champion Jeff Hardy has risen significantly to -350. Asuka, while still favorite to defeat Smackdown Women’s Champion Carmella, has seen those odds shorten to make the already close odds tighten up further. For the Raw Women’s Championship, Nia Jax is still the underdog challenger but those odds have moved closer in probability for Jax to defeat Champion Alexa Bliss. This means since the odds were introduced, the bettors have been backing Nia more then Bliss.

The rest of the odds for the PPV haven’t moved much and are listed below. These always have the possibility to change again up to bell time when the lines close and this can be followed in real time via the sportsbook.

WWE Championship

AJ Styles(c) -850 vs Rusev +484

Raw Women’s Championship (Extreme Rules Match)

Alexa Bliss(c) -260 vs Nia Jax +180

Early Betting Odds for WWE Extreme Rules Offering Close Odds on Most Matches

These odds are courtesy of 5Dimes, a sports book accepting customers worldwide.

With the exception of a few matches, early odds for most bouts at WWE Extreme Rules this Sunday are very close. These lines have plenty of room to move and early bettors will be taking advantage of this before the weekend wager rush that occurs with WWE PPVs. Since mid-2017, “smart money” odds stopped coming in and the general predictability of a match became the driving force behind line moves. There have been more upsets in the last six months than any other period.

Currently, the most lopsided odds are with AJ Styles retaining the WWE Championship against first time challenger Rusev. Styles is -415 as the favorite to win. The Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss also has impressive odds of -365 to successfully retain against Nia Jax in an Extreme Rules match.

In a Steel cage match, Braun Strowman is favored at -245 to defeat Kevin Owens and these odds seem like they should be more in favor of Braun. The rest of the card is very close in terms of odds. Finn Balor, Roman Reigns, Asuka, Team Hell No, Shinsuke Nakamura, Deleter of Worlds and Dolph Ziggler are all marginal favorites. It can be expected that these lines will move by the weekend.

WWE Championship

AJ Styles(c) -415 vs Rusev +295

Raw Women’s Championship (Extreme Rules Match)

Alexa Bliss(c) -365 vs Nia Jax +255

Smackdown Women’s Championship

Final WWE Money in the Bank Betting Odds, New Favorites and “Suspicious Activity”

These odds are courtesy of 5Dimes, a sports book accepting customers worldwide.

The Money in the Bank betting lines have settled since originally introduced last week and there are new projections for key matches. Alexa Bliss is now the favorite to win the Women’s MitB briefcase and remember Natalya was previously most favored to win that match, so this could be an internal leak. In the Men’s MitB, The Miz is still the participant with the best odds to win and is now an outright favorite.

The WWE Championship match was originally an even bet on either AJ Styles or challenger Shinsuke Nakamura. Those odds quickly moved in favor on Nakamura and have remained that way all week. Because this will be a Last Man Standing Match, a count out or DQ is not possible. This is a projected title change.

The Smackdown Women’s Championship match has a suspect discrepancy between the odds for initial and end of broadcast rulings. While Carmella is now favored to successfully defend against Asuka, there could be a dusty finish with Asuka getting the initial win according to the odds. There is also reason to believe the match will be restarted at some point in the Daniel Brian vs Big Cass return match. Another note on that match is that Cass is now favored to win instead of Bryan.

Ronda Rousey is still favored to defeat Raw Women’s Champion Nia Jax, however Ronda’s odds have not moves much and actually has been moving in the opposite direction. Roman Reigns, The Bludgeon Brothers, Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley were favored since the first round odds came out and have remained the favorites the entire time.

The odds below are all “end of broadcast” ruling unless otherwise noted. A minus sign indicates the favorites, while a plus sign represents the underdogs. The higher the number after the plus or minus tells us how favorable or unfavorable that wrestler(s) is/are.

WWE Championship – Last Man Standing
AJ Styles(c) +140 vs Shinsuke Nakamura -180

WWE Raw Women’s Championship
Nia Jax(c) +370 vs Ronda Rousey -560

See Who Is Favored to Win WWE Money in the Bank

These odds are courtesy of 5Dimes, a sports book accepting customers worldwide.

With WWE making the move to offer less PPVs, there are less opportunities for sports books to offer betting odds on the matches. We are now seeing those sports books attempt to adapt to this change by offering odds earlier than usual with the lower number of events being broadcasted. It’s rare to see a global sports book offer odds before the “go home” Raw and Smackdown shows, but that is exactly what has happened. It will be very interesting to watch how the current odds change after this week’s programming.

The WWE Championship is an even bet with both AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura having odds of -120 and will most likely change as we get closer the PPV. Seth Rollins has really favorable odds of -675 to retain the IC title against Elias. Both Women’s Champions are listed as underdogs. Carmella is only a slight underdog against Asuka, who is challenging for the Smackdown Women’s Championship. Raw Women’s Champion Nia Jax is a serious underdog against Ronda Rousey, who has the most star power on this entire event.

The Bludgeon Brothers are major favorites defending the Smackdown Tag Team championships against Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. Looks like the Bludgeons’ dominance is continuing for a while longer. Roman Reigns is heavily favored against Jinder Majal, which makes sense considering he is rumored to be main eventing Summerslam against Brock Lesnar. In other matches Bobby Lashley is favored to defeat Sami Zayn and Daniel Bryan is marginally favored to beat Big Cass again.

The Money in the Bank matches also have odds. The Men’s match sees The Miz as having the best odds of +140. Braun Strowman would be the second most likely to win at +300. The least favorable to win is Bobby Roode with abysmal odds of +2500. For the Women’s match it is Natalya with the most favorable odds of +160 followed by Alexa Bliss with odds of +400. The worst odds have been set for Naomi at +3000.

Again, these odds are out earlier than we typically see and we are following how they change over the week leading up to Sunday’s event.

Who Will Finally Overcome Brock Lesnar?

The following betting odds are sourced from Unibet, an online sportsbook and casino based out of Malta. Unibet accepts player from The United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Monaco, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Estonia, Lithuania, Australia and New Zealand.

Can Anyone Conquer the Conqueror?

Unibet, an online sportsbook and casino based in Malta has introduced an interesting prop bet on who will be the next Universal Champion after Brock Lesnar. This bet is worded very specifically to account for Lesnar vacating the title, which was never considered a serious possibility anyway. This bet is essentially about who will defeat Brock for his championship. One name is favored outright and that name is Braun Strowman.

Strowman is a -200 favorite right now as his stock continues to rise on the Raw Brand. Lesnar, on the other hand, is barely under contract. Roman Reigns has the next best chances of dethroning Lesnar at +134, respectable odds. Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins continues to pull out high level television matches on a weekly basis and lately is being considered by many to be ripe for another run on top. Rollins has odds of +300.

Next most likely is a recently returned superstar endorsed by our friends at Wrestling with Things on Youtube. David Joseph and Sammy Joseph discuss their opinions on who will be the wrestler to beat Brock Lesnar. Watch this video to see why it could be Bobby Lashley, who attained the 4th highest projection to topple Lesnar. Lashley has odds of +500.

Tied for 5th, both with odds of +800 are Finn Balor and Jinder Mahal. There has been talk of a Lesnar vs Balor match in the past, but it never came to fruition. There was a match actually booked last year at Survivor Series between Mahal and Brock, but that was changed when AJ Styles won the WWE Championship away from Jinder. Below is a list of even more possibilities one who will win the Universal championship next.

Next Universal Champion After Brock Lesnar

Braun Strowman -200

Who is Favored to Win at WWE Backlash? Vegas Odds Predict New Champion!

The  following odds are sourced from 5Dimes, a sports book that accepts bettors worldwide.

Early Betting Lines for Backlash project that Shinsuke Nakamura will win the WWE Championship when he challenges AJ Styles this Sunday. With the No DQ stipulation, there’s not much of an out against a positive finish that see the title change hands. The odds are close however, with Nakamura only favored at -210.

The Smackdown Women’s Championship is a toss up with both the new champion Carmella and the former champion Charlotte Flair having odds of -120. Expect this match’s odd to move in the direction of one of these women, rather than remaining in a dead heat.

Seth Rollins is favored by -600 to retain the IC title against The Miz. Miz winning would mean both secondary titles would be on the Smackdown Brand. While this could happen, it’s not likely and this unlikelihood is probably what drove the odds in Rollin’s favor. The US Title match, with both the champion Jeff Hardy and challenger Randy Orton both being on Smackdown, keeps that title on that brand with either result. The US Title match does not currently have odds set.

Nia Jax is heavily favored at -750 to retain the Raw Women’s Championship against the woman she had won it from, Alexa Bliss. Roman Reigns has odds of -600 to defeat Samoa Joe in their cross-branded grudge match. Daniel Bryan is favored at -280 to best Big Cass and the team of Braun Strowman and Bobby Lashley are favored at -475 to topple Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.

These odds are all subject to “end of broadcast ruling”, meaning the final announced winner by the end of the broadcast is the result the sports books will recognize. This rule exists to account for the possibility of a “Dusty Finish”.

Who is Favored to Win The Greatest Royal Rumble?

The following odds come from our friends at 5Dimes

On the day before The Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia, only one of the seven championships on the line project the champion to retain. Even then it’s worth noting that Roman Reigns, while still favored, has seen his odds shorten in his challenge for the Universal Championship held by Brock Lesnar. Last week Roman was favored at -700, but now he is only at -305. Also, since the Raw Tag Team Championship is vacant, there is no possibility for the titles to be retained. The former champions, Cesaro and Sheamus however, are huge underdogs against their opponents, Bray Wyatt and Matt Hardy, who are favored at -1050, the best odds out of anyone on this event. With Cesaro and Sheamus now on Smackdown and this being for the Raw Tag Titles, these odds are easy to believe.

The Undertaker has very good odds of -900 to defeat Rusev in a casket match and John Cena has respectable odds of -230 to best Triple H. For the actual Greatest Royal Rumble Match itself, Braun Strowman still has the best odds and these have moved even more in his favor to +105, whereas they had been +500 previously. According to the odds the only entrant that would have a chance is Daniel Bryan at +220.

A brief explanation of how to read these odds easily – The minus sign represents the favorite while the plus sign indicates an underdog. The number after the plus or minus tells us how much of an underdog or favorite that particular competitor is.

WWE Greatest Royal Rumble Betting Odds from Skybet – Who is Favored to Win the Rumble in Saudi Arabia?

Early Odds have emerged via SkyBet for the Greatest Royal Rumble, being held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on April 27 and will be broadcast on the WWE Network. In addition to the 50 Man Rumble, The Universal and Intercontinental title matches both have odds set. The current top favorability in the Rumble is with Braun Strowman. The least most favored is Strowman’s former tag team partner Nicholas, where $100 would win $10000. Nicholas, of course, is not booked at this event and this wager is simply an amusing novelty. Other wrestlers with better than average odds include Bobby Lashley, Daniel Bryan, Rey Mysterio and Elias.

Also projected is a major title change in the steel cage match between Universal Champion Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns. The brevity of Lesnar’s new contract is the presumable driver of Roman being the favorite. In the IC ladder match the Champion, Seth Rollins, is the favorite right now, but only by a thin margin. The Miz has the next best chances to win, followed by Finn Balor and Samoa Joe.

A quick explanation on reading the moneyline betting odds below is actually very simple to understand. The minus signs indicate the favorite and the plus signs represent the underdogs. The number after the plus or minus tells us how favorable or unfavorable the competitors are. In the case of the Royal Rumble, all choices are listed as underdogs, but some have more favorable odds than others.
