Great Balls of Fire Predictions!

Its time for another round of PPV predictions! This time it’s for WWE’s Great Balls of Fire, which is going down in Dallas, TX at the American Airlines Center on July 9th… which also happens to be my birthday. Whether or not I will watch the PPV and cover it live is up in the air as of now, as I may just watch it later on the [clink id=”2″ target=”_blank”]WWE Network[/clink], but non the less, here are my predictions!

Universal Champion Brock Lesnar vs. Samoa Joe: I don’t care. Honestly this could be a death match and they could both be eaten alive by Braun Strowman, and I still would barely blink an eye. These are two of the most boring WWE personalities as of right now… Lesnar will hold onto the belt till SummerSlam at the very least.

Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman (Ambulance Match): While I like watching these two fight, the ambulance match stipulation is fucking stupid. It not a fun gimmicky match, its a predictable one. Now its hard for me to say who will win for sure, as you know WWE is trying to push Reigns, and folks are confused as to what his “tweener” status is… Is he a face, is he a heel? Who the fuck are we rooting for in this match? I think Reigns is capable of a lot more, but frankly the writing sucks, and creative has no idea how to use him. Strowman is a monster, I dig it. He’s scary, he has destroyed half the RAW roster, we totally get it… But to me this match and the Lesner/Joe match are both two similar dudes fighting each other. I’d have rather seen all these guys in a 4 way match, with the stipulation that kicks in the nuts are legal. Then maybe some bals would be on fire!

Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss vs. Sasha Banks: I hate Alexa Bliss, Not because of her character, but because she takes to social media to demean people who have done a lot more than she has in the business, and who if ever got the opportunity would kick the shit out of her. Shes a shitty person, so I hope Sasha Banks hands her her ass, and takes the belt away… Banks all the way,

Seth Rollins vs. Bray Wyatt: Meh… I feel like the writers on RAW just don’t give a fuck anymore. As much as I like Seth Rollins, I just don’t feel any excitement about this match. I am going with Rollins on this one.

WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville vs. Akira Tozawa: Probably the most exciting match on the card, this should be the main event. Tozawa is on fire, and it would be nice to see a title change, not that I think Neville is a bad champ, actually I think he is great. I just think its time to see Tozawa shine.

G.L.O.W. Debuts on Netflix!

Since I heard of its inception,  I have been super excited about the series on G.L.O.W.  aka the 80’s/90’s Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling, as I loved the ridiculousness of it all as a kid, and it inspired me greatly to wrestle myself. In 1986 when this debuted I was already well into wrestling fandom, and had always been sad there weren’t more women to look up to. What GLOW lacked in wrestling ability, it made up in character. The ladies of GLOW were easier to either love or hate, than most of the guys in other televised pro wrestling. Watching women like Big Bad Mama, Beastie, Hollywood, The Metal Sisters, Mountain Fiji, and all the other “characters” that were presented throughout the seasons.

This series focus’s on the making of GLOW and creates some fake (and maybe presents a touch of real) backstories of the women who became the in ring talent. So far I have watched the first episode and am totally enthralled. Just starting episode 2 now. When I get through the whole series I will write a full review. All I can say now, is this is totally worth watching.

Since we can’t show you more than a preview of the show, what we can show you is a look back at the pilot episode of the Original GLOW experience.

Enjoy!

Remembering Nancy Benoit

Today marks 10 years since the terrible tragedy that struck the Benoit home. This article is not another piece to determine or speculate what had happened, as the reality is, we will never know. But what we can talk about is who Nancy was, her accomplishments, and how she, like far too many other women, died at the hands of the one she loved.

Nancy got her start by modeling for wrestling magazines, and doing “Apartment Wrestling” which is a niche in the women’s wresting market. From there she joined up with Kevin Sullivan and joined his stable at Florida Championship Wrestling. She had first done a short stint in WCW with Sullivan, but was most famous for her character in ECW “Woman”. That is where I first saw her. By then she had moved on from Sullivan and was working with The Sandman. She was devious. She was one you had to watch out for, and despite her “sexy sidekick” persona, she wasn’t just a valet, she was truly a great ringside manager. If you have opportunity to look back on these videos, you will see what I mean. She was always important to her story lines. Despite what her name led you to believe “Woman” was a integral part of The Sandman’s rise to the top of the company. She spent 4 years in ECW, then returned to WCW where she managed the current lineup of the Four Horsemen. Chris Benoit was part of the stable at the time, and at some point they started an on screen love angle, and he was feuding with her then real life husband, Kevin Sullivan, and wrestling turned to real life, when she left Sullivan for Benoit. During the feud she had some memorable moments standing up for herself, in a liberated woman kinda way.  Nancy left wrestling in the late 90’s. I think 97 or 98, I was working a lot back then, so all I remember is one day she wasn’t there anymore.

Nancy had their son, and then later married Benoit in 2000. In 2003 she filed for divorce and a restraining order alleging cruel treatment but later dropped both.  4 years later, she was found dead, after Chris Benoit had gone absent from TV, and the family was found by authorities. It was deemed a double murder suicide. It is probably one of the most horrific things to happen in wrestling history, but to womanhood, this is part of a problem far too many of us have faced, domestic violence. CNN put this article out on intimate partner violence last month, but here are some of the quick facts it contains:

Worldwide:
Thirty-five percent of women worldwide have experienced either physical and/or sexual intimate partner violence or non-partner sexual violence, according to the United Nations.
According to a Global Study on Homicide, of all women who were the victims of homicide globally in 2012, an estimated half were killed by intimate partners or family members.
United States:
Each day –
Three or more women are murdered by their boyfriends or husbands on average, according to the American Psychology Association.
Each year – Over 10 million women and men are victims of intimate partner violence, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Between 1994 and 2011, the rates of serious intimate partner violence perpetrated on women fell 72%.
The National Domestic Violence Hotline (and loveisrepect, its project for teens and young adults) answered 323,669 calls, chats and texts in 2016.

This is something we all need to be aware of in our own lives, and in the lives of those we love around us. Nancy filed for divorce, with a restraining order 4 years before her death. Whatever was going on between them, clearly had been going on for some time. We don’t know what steps they took, whether they went to counseling, whether Chris was aware of how bad his brain damage was from all of the hits, collisions and concussions he had faced. We know Chris and Nancy fought quite a bit, and as Cageside Seats Reported in 2010, the investigation was garbage.   What is sad is that we live in a society that doesn’t do more to save women in domestically abusive situations. Nancy did not make a ton of money off of her time in wrestling, though she did manage both of her husbands professional careers. Nancy made her own, often overlooked mark on wrestling. Despite her upper middle class status, and comfortable lifestyle she was not able to escape the abuse and her subsequent death, by the hands of the one she loved.

If you know someone who is experiencing domestic violence, reach out, lend support, don’t judge, help them if they need it, and if you know someone who has suffered from a head injury and is acting violently, please encourage them to get treatment as well. In order to prevent these things, we need to be vigilant.

Money In The Bank Results!

Its that tine again folks! Money In The Bank is today, and we are currently tuned into the pre-show on the [clink id=”2″]WWE Network[/clink]!

If you are following along with us you can place bets up until the bell of each match!

Preshow:
The Hype Bros. vs The Colons – Mojo is too good to be in a tag team…  This match was a lot of fun to watch, Ryder gets the pin for The Hype Bros to take the win!

Main Card:
1st EVER Women’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match:
Charlotte Flair vs Becky Lynch vs Tamina vs Carmella w.James Ellsworth vs Natayla What no surprise 6th woman? Boo! Tamina clears the ring, they fight a bit, Nattie is first to try to get the briefcase but Charlotte takes her out. Charlotte tries to climb up but Carmella pulls her down, Carmella makes her way up as does Charlotte, they fight a bit at the top of the ladder, Tamina comes and shoves the ladder over. Nice. Nattie hits Tamina with a ladder, Tamina already looked beat up. Becky and Nattie are fighting, broken up by both Carmella and Charlotte…. Its back to just Nattie and Becky, Becky kicks Nattie out and climbs the ladder to be pulled down by Carmella. I have to say, I am enjoying Carmella’s outfit today. Its very appropriate. Carmella gets taken out by Charlotte, who looks meaner today than she has since she came from RAW, Charlotte climbs ladder, Tamina climbs behind her and both take a huge bump to the floor from 3/4 the way up. Charlotte spears Tamina out of the ring, all the women are on the outside. Charlotte does a moonsault off the top turnbuckle onto Tamina and Nattie on the outside, so now they are all down… that was stupid. What good is taking yourself out? Carmella climbs the ladder, but Becky pulls her down and powerbombs her, Becky climbes the ladder, and Ellsworth tips her over and tries to revive Carmella. Ellsworth says fuck it and HE CLIMBS THE LADDER AND TAKES THE CASE!!! Refs are arguing at ringside… James Ellsworth grabs the mic declares Carmella the Winner and gives her the briefcase. Talk about the ultimate screw job!

Daniel Bryan is returning on Tuesday for SmackDown Live and has something to say about this!

Backstage interview with Lana… she is pretty confident she is walking away with the title tonight.

WWE Tag Team Championship Match:
The New Day vs The Uso’s(c) -The New Day cut a bizarre promo, and are also very confident they will walk away victorious tonight. The Uso’s look like they are ready to beat the snot out of The New Day… then they cut to introduce all the announce teams. Seriously? The match starts with Kofi Kingston and Jimmy Uso. They go back and forth, Jay gets tagged in, then Kofi managers to tag Big E in. There is so much going on, as usual its hard to cover it shot for shot, Kofi takes and ugly bump to the outside, when he gets up Jimmy clotheslines him so hard his head almost came off. The Uso’s are tearing poor Kofi apart. Kofi hasn’t been able to tag out for a while, and the Uso’s are taking full advantage of the situation. Jay Uso’s talking mad shit between beating on Kofi. Jay lets Kofi recover a little too long, and gets  sick dropkick, Big E back in, so is Jimmy and Big E gets two huge Belly to bell suplexes on Jimmy, but Jimmy cuts him off. Big E recovers, and there is more back and forth, Big E tags Kofi in and they double team Jimmy Uso. Kofi is back in, and fired up, but the Uso’s cut him off quickly, and Jay gets him in a submission in the middle of the ring. Jimmy tries to take out Big E outside, but gets suplexed on the floor. Kofi hits the SOS on Jay Uso, both men are down. There is a hot tag, and Big E is the legal man, but Jimmy doesn’t realize it, and almost gets put through the floor of the ring. Jimmy breaks up the pin, Xavier distracts him with the trombone, more stuff happens, TND his The Midnight Hour on Jay USO, but jimmy pills him out. The Uso’s stay out of the ring, and lose by count out, so The New Day won the match, but The Uso’s retain their titles.

SmackDown Women’s Championship Match:
Lana vs Naomi(c) : This match starts off hot, both women have a ferocity you don’t often see. Lana screams waaaaaay too much. Lana is way more aggressive than you would expect, she is really taking it to Naomi. Watching the match makes it apparent that she is still very limited in her skill set, but has really leaned to take advantage of what she does know. Lana gets the first cover, Naomi kicks out at 2, Lana has been targeting the champions left knee, and her strategy seems to be paying off. Naomi works her way out of Lana’s control. She regains a little bit and gives Lana 3 big kicks to the head, and then his Lana with The Rear View. But Naomi doesn’t get the pin, Lana gets back in control, and gives her a sit out spine buster… before the match is even over, Carmella has come to the ring, with her MITB Briefcase, Ellsworth, and a referee, is she here to cash in or just to mock Lana? Naomi managers to get back in control and wins by submission… What is Carmella going to do??? She decided to wait for another time.

Maria Kanellis and Mike Kanellis (really) come out, she says the first lady of WWE is back, shes been searching for 7 years for the perfect partner… Its Mike, they pan on educating everyone on SmackDown Live about the Power Of Love. I wonder how Bruce Prichard Feels about this.

WWE Championship Match:
Randy Orton vs Jinder Mahal(c) – Actually enjoying this match, and got distracted by someone interested in what I was watching. Mahal has dominated a lot of this match so far, but as we all know a viper waits to strike! Orton does indeed strike, Dumping Mahal into the legends including his Dad in the front row, then he gets dumped on the announce table himself. The men go back and forth a bit more, Orton tosses Mahal, but Mahal powders out, Orton follows him and gets capped in the knee on the barricade. OW. Mahal drags him to the ring for a 2 count. This knee submission was already used in the tag match. GAH I hate that. Jinder Mahal is a giant copycat. Too distracted to give a play by play, this match has been fun to watch. Orton superplex’s Mahal off the top rope, and gets a 2 count. Orton gets the RKO but the Singh brothers put Mahal’s foot on the rope. They get thrown out from ringside, but this is a major distraction for the official. Mahal has rolled out of the ring, Orton lays there catching his breath, the Singh brothers stay at ring side anyway and start shit talking the legends, grabbing Cowboy Bob Orton, and Randy comes to his dads rescue… Orton then destroys the Singh’s who aren’t even heavy enough to go through an announce table… ha. But where is Mahal? Orton puts one of the Singh’s through a table with a RKO, Jinder Mahal then drags him in the ring, and gets the win, retaining the title. BOO.

Breezango: The Fashion Police vs The Ascension – This is a solid tag tam match, Totally enjoyed watching it. Fandango gets the roll up for the win. Congratz to the Ascension on the PPV, you guys are going places.

2017 Men’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match:
AJ Styles vs Dolph Ziggler vs Sami Zayn vs Kevin Owens vs Shinsuke Nakamura vs Baron Corbin – Baron Corbin starts it off by attacking Nakamura from behind during the strobe light part of his entrance. Nakamura is knocked out at on the entrance way… Match starts anyway. I will try to give you highlights, there is no way I can follow this mayhem. Pretty much everyone is getting the shit kicked out of them. AJ looked to be the first to try to get the ladder up, but Owens came up and kicked him in the face. Owns tries to set the ladder up, Zayn cuts him off… Owens gets away climbs the turnbuckle and Zayn pulls him off and throws him on the ladder. Ouch. Wonder if Nakamura is ok… Ladder is now broke, new ladder in the ring, but Ziggler comes in to take out Zayn. More back and forth… now we got Styles, and Corbin in the ring, Corbin is down, AJ is setting up the ladder, get up, and Corbin climbs up as well. They fight at the top Ziggler pulls Corbin down, climbs over him, and knocks Styles down, and then Corbin yanks Ziggler down, starts to climb but Ziggler his him with the Zigzag.. (Corbin may be dead) Styles Ziggler, and Zayn on a ladder…. all fighting, Styles falls off, Ziggler and Zayn fighting at the top. Zayn gives Ziggler the sunset flip power bomb off the top. OUCH. Owens is back, pulls Zayn out, they go back and forth a bit, Zayn just did some sick shit to Owens, and I am pretty sure he’s dead too. There is carnage ad bodies everywhere. Zayn climbs the ladder, and Styles launches himself from who knows where, off the top rope, and knocks Zayn and the ladder down. Corbin is back up and yanks Styles up, and smashes him into the announce table a few times. Corbin sets a ladder up off the stairs and the desk, but takes too long and styles fights back, Styles still gets choke-slammed into the ladder. This is a painful match. Corbin and Zayn are in the ring, Zayn takes him out, gets the ladder up climbs up and Ziggler and owns both try to pull him down. Owens succeeds. Owens now on ladder, Styles pulls him down. They go back and forth a bit. Styles gives Owens a suplex on the ladder on the stairs and everyone’s dead. Styles gets up and climbs the ladder, AJ Styles is hanging from the chain he takes a huge bump that looks really ugly after falling without the suitcase. Corbin takes Ziggler out, and starts to climb, and Nakamura is up! YEEEEEEAAAAH! Nakamura is pretty fresh in comparison, he just took a nap… He’s making work of Corbin, knocks him out of the ring, Ziggler runs in and Nakamura makes quick work of him, Same thing with Zayn, then Owens when he tries to hold the ladder, Nakamura sets up the ladder, everyone else seems dead… He makes the Ascent, and Styles joins him…. crowd is freaking out… they move the ladder aside, then go blow for blow. its back and forth a bit, Nakamura gets The Exploder on Styles, but when Nakamura goes back for more, Styles cuts him off. Crowd is chanting “This is Awesome” It actually is. Styles is climbing as is Nakamura, they fight at the top, There’s 15 minutes left in this PPV??? Corbin comes and takes them both out, by knocking them off the ladder, and he easily climbs the ladder and gets the briefcase. Baron Corbin is this years Money In the Bank Winner!

Yet another great SmackDown branded PPV. Overall I really enjoyed the PPV, as you can see in comparison to my other reviews. The last RAW PPV was boring as fuck, and seriously creative on that brand needs to step up their game! (Don’t blame the talent!)

Money In The Bank Predictions!

This years Money In The Bank is shaping up to be a memorable one, featuring the first ever Women’s MITB Ladder Match! Here are my predictions for the outcomes of each match:

SmackDown Women’s Champion Naomi vs. Lana
I give Lana credit that she has trained to wrestle, and is ready to take to the ring herself, however I am a little disappointed to see she gets a title shot before women who have worked harder for longer. I give this match to Naomi.

SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos vs. The New Day – As much as I love the Uso’s I noticed that WWE got those [clink id=”61″ target=”_blank”]New Day Title Belts[/clink] selling out in lightening speed and still being featured on the site,  I am going to have to go with The New Day.

Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Natalya vs. Tamina vs. Carmella (Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match) – This match is going to be AWESOME. Honestly I am having a hard time deciding who will take this match. Personally I am divided between Nattie and Becky Lynch.

WWE Champion Jinder Mahal vs. Randy Orton – Will Jinder Mahal roll Orton up in his magic carpet? Will WWE do more racist stereotype gimmicks? Jack The Snake as a snake charmer? Who knows… Jinder Mahal will retain, he is getting a decent amount of press and heat online, so I think they will run with that until it fizzles out.

United States Champion Kevin Owens, AJ Styles, Baron Corbin, Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler and Shinsuke Nakamura (Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match) – NAKAMURA ALL DAY. Sorry guys.

So these are my predictions, and I wonder if a 6th woman will appear for the Women’s MITB, maybe a Bella perhaps? Who knows! The only way to find out is to watch!

WWE Extreme Rules Results

Pre show:

Kalisto vs Apollo Crews w/ Titus O’neil – I really enjoyed this match. Lots of high flying lucha action from Kalisto, and lots of power moves by Crews. These two guys work well off each others very different wrestling styles. This match has lots of action, and ends after Titus O’neil accidentally distracts Crews with advice and Kalisto hits the Salida Del Sol for the win.

Main Card:

Intercontinental Championship Match: If Ambrose gets DQ’d he loses the Title – The Miz vs Dean Abrose(c) – Basically this match is gonna be an attempted screw job. Maryse is in wrestling gear at ringside. So that says something. Miz tries to get Ambrose caught with the chair, is inciting him to beat and choke him.  A bit of wrestling happens… go figure… I’m imagining a “This is Boring” chant in my head. I’m way less interested in this match then I thought I’d be. I am also writing this from my cell so excuse any mistakes. Ok match has gotten a bit better since Ambrose dropped a elbow off the top. Still way less interesting than I’d expect from these guys. Abrose hurts his leg, Miz takes advantage. Gets dean in a figure 4. Ambrose gets the ropes but os pretty beat after, but still has more. During the fray Miz pulls a turnbuckle cover off. Ambrose doesnt fall gor it. More back and forth. Ambrose geta Miz in the figure 4. Miz gets the ropes. Maryse slaps Miz and official sends Maryse to the locker room. Miz slams Ambrose into the ref, official was still distracted by Maryse. Miz hits Skullcrusher thing for the win. Your new Intercontinental Champion: The Miz.

Backstage Interview with Bayley talking about watching some Kendo stick matches, and saw Wonder Woman and shes ready to get the Womens Championship Back.

Noam Dar and Alicia Fox vs Rich Swann and Sasha Banks: The guys start put but then the girls tag in and get a good chunk of time in the start of match but dont do much?? Guys tag back in, beat each other up. Alicia Fox tries to get involved,  anf Banks attacks her tossing her out of the ring. Everyones out, Banks goes to the top to get Fox Dar tries to move Fox and gets tackled by Banks instead. Swann drags him back to the ring to give him another move from the top for good measure, Swann pins Dar for the win. Swann and Banks dance in the ring.

Elias Sampson is in the ring, with a guitar and a keffiteh asking who wants tp rock with him… people don’t seem to want to rock with him. He sings about how gross Balitmore is gross to the tune of hotel California or something. Its really weird. Thanks Elias.  Booker T thinks he’s good, now im totally sold.

RAW Women’s Championship: Kendo Stick on a Pole Match – Bayley vs Alexa Bliss(c) – Bliss taunts Bayley right from the start. Alexa is first to go for the Kendo stick but Bayley gets the stick but drops it and both woman fall outside. Bayley blocks Alrxa from the stick then gives her a suplex on the groubd outside. Bayley has the kendo stick,  Alexa ran away, Bayley took too much time and Alexa kicks the kendo stick outta her hands and then beats Bayley with it. BAayley does a Belly to Bayley on Alexa, more bavk and forth, Alexa gets the stick again beats Bayley, and Alexa retains her title. Lesson: don’t hesitate when ypu have a kendo stick.

RAW Tag Team Championship Match: Steel Cage Match, both members must escape the cage – Cesaro and Sheamus vs The Hardy Boyz (c) – Cersaro and Sheamus have some sweet black kilts and matching jackets. The cage is open at the top so its pretty ridiculous. No nm pinfalls or submissions just both members have to escape. The Hardys are gicing a beating to Sheamus and Cesaro, who clearly have less cahe match experience.  Hardys try to escape, but thier opponents pull them back in. Matt Hardy gets to the top of the cage, Cesaro goes after him and hands him off to Sheamus for a standing senton. Cesaro and Sheamus are now in control, beating up the Hardys for thier chance at escape. Jeff fights back, climbs the cage, Sheamus pulls him down. More back and forth, all men are down. Hardys climb first but Sheamus and Cesaro follow, all men at the top of the cage. Jeff makes it out, its now 2 on one, but Matt takes both men down momentarily. Matt scales the cage, Ceasaro and Sheamus are dragging him back into the ring and he gets a double Razors Edge. Jeff Hardy is trying to get back in, but Cesaro slams the cage door on his face. Sheamus tries the door but Matt gets him in a Twist of Fate. Matt then pulls Ceasaro down, but Cesaro gets up and pulls him down and C&S give Maty the White Noise. Jeff gets back in and does the Whisper in the Wind from the top of the cage. Race to the outside of the cage, Ceasaro and Sheamus for the win and the Tag Titles! Yaaaaaaay!

WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match: Submission Match – Austin Aries vs Neville (c) – This match is too much.. plus I rather watch than write… The match was awesome. Neville retains his title. 205Live matches are way better than RAW matches IMO.

Fatal 5 way for #1 contender for Universal Championship Match against Bork Lesner – Bray Wyatt vs Seth Rollins vs Samoa Joe vs Roman Reigns vs Finn Baylor – Joe and Rollings and Wyatt and Balor start off, leaving Reigns standing alone. This Match is way too much to follow to try to write about. Results when it happens… the match was nuts witb Joe and Wyatt teaming up like a wrecking crew. All sorts of chair shots and high spots and even a trip through the barricaide. Samoa Joe wins by Submission. That means we have to watch him wrestle Lesner. Sounds painful. To watch.

Overall I thought this PPV was meh. The last two matches were the best. My MOTN was Neville and Aries.

Next PPV is Money in the Bank followed by Great Balls of Fire.

Extreme Rules Predictions!

This weekend we have another PPV coming up, this one is Monday Night RAW branded, “Extreme Rules”, so as always I will give you my predictions as to who will win!

Rich Swann & Sasha Banks vs. Noam Dar & Alicia Fox (Mixed Tag Team Match) – The only way Dar and Fox are going to win is if they cheat, I give it to Swann and Banks.

WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville vs. Austin Aries (Submission Match) – Austin Aries will win with his vegan super powers!

Raw Tag Team Champions The Hardy Boyz vs. Cesaro & Sheamus – Steel Cage Match – As much as I love the Hardy Boyz, watching them last night shows just how beat up they really are, and the steel cage is unforgiving. I give this to Cesaro & Shaeamus.

Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley (Kendo Stick on a Pole Match) – Bayley has worked harder to prove herself than half the women in WWE today. Alexa Bliss is a cheating little toad, and I hope she gets an ass beating with that Kendo stick. I give this to Bayley, just for her reach advantage alone.

Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose vs. The Miz (if Ambrose is disqualified, he will lose the Intercontinental Title) – Dean Ambrose needs to watch his back, as Maryse will go out of her way to try to help her hubby the Miz, gain the IC Title. I am going to have to go with The Miz, as I have a feeling he is going to go above and beyond to get Ambrose DQ’d.

Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins vs. Finn Bálor vs. Bray Wyatt vs. Samoa Joe – Extreme Rules Fatal 5-Way Universal Title No. 1 Contender’s Match – This match is going to be WILD! All of these men want a shot at Brock Lesner, who has not been seen since Wrestlemania, but who will get a shot at the Universal Championship? A few weeks back Bálor said it was his goal to get the title back. Will he be able to hold his own against these 4 opponents, who all also want this title shot for themselves? After watching Samoa Joe steal his win on RAW, who knows what may happen! I am going with Bálor, because I have have some faith in him to use his brains to come out victorious!

WWE BackLash Results 2017

Preshow
Tye Dillinger  vs Aiden English – Winner Tye Dillinger

Erick Rowan came out in his sheep mask, took it off, put it back on… much to the confusion of the pre show hosts…

Main Card
[clink id=”33″ target=”_blank”]Dolph Ziggler[/clink] vs Shinsuke Nakamura
Ziggler hits the ring first… no one cares, this crowd is super pumped for Nakamura (poor Ziggler). Nakamura comes to the ring, and the crowd is super pumped. They start out with some chain wrestling, but Nakamura tries to overpower and outsmart Ziggler rather than just wrestle him. Ziggler takes control with a submission but also bends the hand of Nakamura. Nakamura reverses and works Zigglers arm. This is a very back and forth match, with both men looking strong. Ziggler gets a hell of a dropkick in on Nakamura, followed by a big elbow drop. Ziggler takes too much time and Nakamura cuts him off with a knee to the guy then a leg to the head. There is more back and forth, too much too fast to write. Ziggler catches Nakamura in a HUGE DDT, taking Nakamura down again. Both men get up Zigger gets cut off again, but almost gets Nakamura on a roll up, then again on another two count. Nakamura looks hurt. Both men are down, but Ziggler gets back up first, and goes for a superkick, but Nakamura dodges but Ziggler catches him in the ZigZag, and Nakamura kicks out. HOLY SHIT. This match is a fire first match. There is so much back and forth its impossible for me to keep up. After a few more minutes Skinsuke Nakamura takes the win by pinfall after hitting the Kinshasa.

Ridiculous “Fashion Files” promo from Breezango…

SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match
Breezango vs The Uso’s(c)

The last minute of that match was a bit of a clusterfuck.

6 Woman Tag Match
James Ellsworth comes to the ring, he cuts a promo and says he is the Micheal Jordan of Sports Entertainment, the epitome of masculinity. Puts himself over a little more, then introduces Carmella. They are wearing ugly red gold and black matching outfits. Next to the ring is Tamina, shes looking ready to kick some ass. Luke Harper vs Erick Rowan
Rowan comes to the ring in a new mask. This one is a pigface gasmask combo. Harper comes out and the match starts right away. I am not sure how much to write, as it’s clear these two are just gonna beat the shit out of each other. Both of these are huge dominating guys. They also know each others moves as they are “family” or were in some sense of the word. Rowan is laying into Harper hard, but Harper isn’t backing down. Rowan gets a cover after a dropkick… that’s a huge dude to get that high off the ground! Its really not looking good for Harper at this point. WWE Championship Match
Jinder Mahal vs Randy Orton(c)
Jinder Mahal is HUGE. It seems his neck is disappearing. Randy Orton comes out looking cool and calm in the face of a monster, but will his experience be enough to retain his title over Mahal? Usually Orton is one of the guys in the best shape in the company, but it looks like Jinder Mahal has surpassed him on that. Marriage must be making Orton soft… lol. Orton doesn’t even wait for the bell to ring, and jumps Mahal. He tosses Mahal outside then scares off the Singh Brothers from ringside… Orton beats on Mahal on the announce table, then throws him back into the ring. JINDER MAHAL IS YOUR NEW WWE CHAMPION!

Wow what a PPV! This was leagues above payback. Overall I thought the matches were great, and the only disappointment was the end of the US Championship match. This will probably be in my top 5 PPV’s of 2017.

My WWE BackLash Predictions

The odds aren’t out yet, but I like to write up my guesses on who will come out on top at WWE PPV’s.  Here are my picks for WWE BackLash on Sunday May 21st!

Shinsuke Nakamura vs [clink id=”33″ target=”_blank”]Dolph Ziggler[/clink] – Nakamura all the way

SmackDown Women’s Champion [clink id=”34″ target=”_blank”]Naomi[/clink], [clink id=”21″ target=”_blank”]Charlotte Flair[/clink] & [clink id=”8″ target=”_blank”]Becky Lynch[/clink] vs. [clink id=”35″ target=”_blank”]Natalya[/clink], Carmella & Tamina (Six-Woman Tag Team Match) – So confused as to why Charlotte is on the baby face team. I have a feeling she will turn on her teammates. I give this to Natalya, Carmella, and Tamina.

United States Champion [clink id=”17″ target=”_blank”]Kevin Owens[/clink] vs. [clink id=”30″ target=”_blank”]AJ Styles[/clink] – Owens is losing that belt… AJ will be the new US Champion!

SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos vs. Breezango – While Breezango looks fabulous, I don’t think they are as comfortable with each other as a tag team as the Usos are. Usos will retain the titles.

WWE Champion [clink id=”10″ target=”_blank”]Randy Orton[/clink] vs. Jinder Mahal – Jinder Mahal is killing it these days, but will his skills match up against Orton’s cunning ways? If he doesn’t fall into a trap, he may be able to beat Orton, but knowing Orton, he will put up a fight, and pull every trick out to retain his title. Orton will retain the WWE Championship.
